***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hello everyone hope everyone had a wonderful memorial day
And I was away all weekend...
But I have two trio of bourbon red turkeys
I mainly love my wyandottes, I have silver laced, blue red laced
And blues..
I have thought about raising other breeds just gotta build
More pen space and talk wife into letting me
;)

If she hangs with bunch long enough, she will begging you to build more pens!

I know I miss posts sometimes, or just plain skip them if there are a lot to catch up on, so maybe if you'll post what's going on with your rooster again, someone will be able to help.

If you're looking for a vet who sees chickens, Mitzi and I have taken our birds to Dr. Zinn to a clinic in Guthrie. He is very helpful, and has saved some of our chickens' lives, literally.

I use Dr. Zinn as well. He's amazing.

My little guy is only 5 weeks old. He came inside with some missing wing feathers and was looking sickly. I have had him in here for about a week now and he doesn't seem to be improving. He has had some diarrhea. He is missing more feathers and his eyes seem red to me. I have added in a few pics of him that I took today. I can't afford a vet visit so I am trying to help him best I can without that expense.

This is a little blurry but he is laying down favoring his right side.

If it is bad enough I will have hubby put him down this evening. I don't have the heart to do it. Would like to be able to save the little guy cause he is such a little sweetheart. WHen I first brought him in he snuggled up against my cheek :(
I put him in his new box just before I posted this and he still hasn't pooped. I gave him a bath and dusted with DE in case he has mites or lice. He keeps picking at his back so I think that may be an issue for him.

Gun mamma the feather part is what confuses me. I would had thought maybe cocci otherwise, but honestly he wouldn't have made it this long. So sorry I couldn't help more.

Kass we have the tiller, edger & pole saw attachment. DH loves them all. They saw much more use when we lived in town though. Just make sure you supervise when he plays. DH has taken out many things that he shouldnt. He is very dangerous to my garden!

I would almost say Cocci but he has been this way for a week most chicks die within a day or so. Have you given him any Save a Chick or vitamins? If not maybe try that. Poor guy hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Anyone know what color Nathanael's little roo is? Not sure he will be keeping this one, it bites and has tried to flog the cat without being provoked. He got it at Newcastle auction and is just sure he can tame him up but I'm not so sure. He is one little stinker! He sure is pretty but Nathanael can only get him out of his coop with gloves on and then can't hold him where he can bite him or he will. He just started working with him so I will give him a few weeks to see if he can make any progress with him before sending him to a new home.
