ranch sale might be a real good one since it is the first since they moved it,ensingns had a good setup in prauge, so i hope it will be about the same at the ranch.

I was thinking of trying something a little different this time and maybe selling some muscovy babies. At $2 a piece I think I'll try Craig's list.

Are The Insigns have an auction at the ranch NE of Pawnee now??? Or is it somewhere else? What day and where is their auction!!! Lynn

Would you take $20 if I gave you them all?

They're free. And if you hesitate and act like you don't want them I'll throw $5 bills at you until you take them lol! There's actually just 5 right now, the 6th has been pipped for 24 hrs and I thought it'd be born by now but it's not. And I am NOT helping the noisy little critter out of its shell either. I'm going to have to be cold-hearted and let nature take its course on this one.

Aw! I want 'em. Are you bringing them to NEOCS? I'm so sad about the little one though! Will you help it out if I promise to take it? How about if I hug it and squeeze it and name it George?

Do I strike you even for a fraction of a second as someone who could actually stand by and watch a baby creature struggling and not help it?? lol I'm scared to help too soon though. It's got a huge pip/crack in the shell. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to just accidentally tip that little chip out of the way and see what's going on....
ETA: Peeled 1/2 his shell off and he's peeping like crazy. There's no blood and so far he looks ready, he's been pipped 24-36 hrs at this point. I don't know what the deal is with having to peel so many of these keets out of the shell. The shells are super hard but they should've been able to get out you'd think. I think only 1 or 2 were born on their own.
I'll mark George with a pretty blue leg band :)

When I read that you typed you weren't going to help it out, I said to myself "Yeah right!" lol You don't have it in you, (said as a good thing).

Thanks nnbreeder for your answer. It does not sound too good for my rooster - his name maybe change to dinner if he does not improve.

-" A good rooster will not let his ladies fight, I have seen them get between two hens that were in a very severe fight and then dole out punishment once the fight was stopped". (Indiferent when they start to peck :(

- "They will also find treats and goodies for the hens and chicks and will stand back until they walk away." (checked! but I am not sure if he is pecking the chicks or testing if they are girls?)

- "A very good rooster will even set the nest while a hen is out doing their daily duties and above all" (I knew they can do that but this one didnt when the hens were broody.)

- "A good rooster will defend his flock to the death against all comers, no matter how large or how many." (kind of checked, he did stand for some dogs that were nearby and make sounds to alert when things does not seem rigth, but he rans away when my husband is trying to grave them when I expect to stand for a fight. Maybe is the breed)

I should not have get rid of the other rooster, I like that one more but I heard my husband!!! I just did not want to annoy the neighboors with two roosters, one was enough! They have not complained, although I have asked them if it does.

Oh well, we will see.
