When I read that you typed you weren't going to help it out, I said to myself "Yeah right!" lol You don't have it in you, (said as a good thing).
I can talk a big story when I want to though

And my husband surprised me with a Kindle Fire a little while ago!! And I was almost out of devices :) It's awesome!

Oh yea-and George the Guinea keet is out and drying as I type. I peeled about 1/2 his shell and he did the rest. I don't think he'd have made it out otherwise, and I don't know what the deal was.

UGH I am going to be insane, I talked to a nice gentleman at a local auction 3 weeks ago. He swore he raised RIR and Barred Rock and he had 4 dozen hatching eggs of each. Soooo we bid on them, got them cheap enough so got 2 dozen of each. He just went on and on how his birds are all kept seperate and he marks the eggs as he pulls them from the pens, yada, yada, yada. Well 3 weeks later my hatch has started. I had no choice but to open the hatcher this morning this little guy was running loose in the bottom. Guess he somehow got out of the tray he hatched in. So opened it quickly and the only egg hatched is a RIR. Well I am no expert but I am going out on a limb here and saying this isn't no RIR, he is blue and has feather legs and feathers on 2 toes on each foot. He is cute and I have no idea what he is (taking guesses if anyone knows) but he isn't the RIR I thought I was going to get. I sure hope this one is a fluke and I get my RIR and BR or I will be giving up till fall.

i will take that feathered legged bird anytime!

Laura, the Denagard is $60 total and that includes shipping. LS-50 is going to be right about the same price after shipping. It'll only take like 2 days to get to you, really. Livestock companies are great about shipping super fast. In the meantime for $13 you can go get some Tylan 50 at Tractor Supply and that's going to clear it up. If it's MG they don't usually die from it, very seldom. But what happens is it opens up their systems to e coli or some other virus, that's what kills them. Course we don't know for sure that's what it is.
My turkey's were tame like lap dogs, duh-it hadn't occurred to me that other turkey's aren't like that. I can't imagine having to inject a turkey with a needle that's not tame :-O
People use Tylan 50 orally also. They give them double the amount down their throat. I tasted it though because I didn't want to give something to the birds that tasted really bad-and it's really bad. Course you could add sugar to it and it'd taste better, then just give orally.

I found LS-50 on amazon for $30 including shipping and I'm having trouble getting DH to agree to that. He doesn't think it's worth it

Don't get me wrong I could do it in a heart beat, but since there is a discussion about it now, I don't know. How much does the Denagard treat? Is it one of those bottles I'll probably have around for years and be able to use many times over? I think that's his big qualm. seems silly to spend that much when you could buy a thanksgiving turkey for less than that.

QCSupply.com is where I ordered our bottle from. It is like $44.95 and then shipping. You can use code "5OFF" to get $5 off an order of $40 or more. Shipping was $10 so for $50 you can get the Denegard. Ours got to us amazingly fast, just a few days.
Thanks!

I bring the juice to a high boil and pour it into sterilized jars and cap with sterile lids and rims tirghtened hard. As it cools it seals. Haven't had any lose their sel in all the year I've canned it.
Yes, it looks like the chick will stay blue. Looks like my babies.
Shorten it to DT

www.ValleyVet.com carries it also and they have really quick shipping. That is where I got ours. I ordered it in July 2011 and paid 39.95 for a liter bottle There was a promo code so I paid no shipping..

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Other than the turkeys, deer in the front yard, lightening bugs in the back, it's a good night here.

on the pullet with the eye issue- no oozing? i am wondering if she damaged it and then the others are 'helping'??

its been a heck of a day....sigh.... lea lost her little baby- the brahma mix,

dave found him dying with a chunk out of his thigh, almost triangular.... what would do that? aerial attack?? his mama was mussed up but no injuries.... then i go go check the broodies, yup, another damaged egg close to hatching, its in the bator, with damp paper towels, would a wash rag work bettr to keep it moist? none of the membrane is broken, i'm guessing about 16 days along- dave mentioned it may be just weak shells?
