If you can send me more that would be great please let me know what i owe ya. Boys only just turned two so he dont know any better. I got them stored up high now. Kinda my own fault need to place all things important above boy level .

I don't post much for various reasons. First being the rudeness of folks to others. How immature! I do read most of the posts and see trends in folks coming and going over time. I'm one of the going ones. I suppose not many will give a rats patoot and I'm OK with that. Just keep in mind that in order to maintain a rapport with fellow poultry folks - or just keep the peace and maintain a good rapport with folks in general - that kindness goes a lot farther than bad attitudes.
Im not sure of what has happend in the past but many on here have been very kind and supportive. You are one of those people and would not like to see you go. I hope that somthing can change your mind. If not please do get my email so we may stay in touch. I may have questions come up as we get more into our serama project. Plus i would like to keep you up to date with the chickies.

all caught up on my reading so gonna top off my coffee and head out to get some more work done on this coop. My oldest daughter has now started waking at the sound of power tools. a bit later i need run by and see if i can pick up another load of free lumber. I love using what others are just gonna throw away. Happy wensday all!

i think my spangled bantam hen knew what i was doing yesterday, i was putting 1/2 by 1/2 wire around there coops to keep the snakes out, they have eaten a lot of her eggs, the most she got up to before he them was 9. but when i was in her coop putting the wire up, she was all over me trying to get attention. perching on my butt when i bent over, perching on my head when i knelt down, scratching for me some food next to my feet, and jumping from perch to perch to be next to my face, she has never acted like that. lol she must have know i was try to keep those snakes out.

yes i love free too. and lumber is so pricey these days, along with everything else, i have to go to Lowe's and get what little lumber i can afford this weekend. just paying for gas to drive my truck to town isn't very cheap, lol

So hubby has agreed to build me a new coop. This one is going to be bigger and have half of it as a storage/garden shed. Then where the coop is now is going to be grow out or breeding pens and I get a incubating and brooding area built as well. He calls me crazy but he is just enabling the craziness!

i have a lil spangled oegb rooster his name is clover he has no lady friend at the moment. Thinking i may have to find a way to change that for him. He so sweet. loves his comb rubbed.

Well I don't have a snake problem here. Haven't ever seen one here honestly and not sure they could get in with the way I have things secured.
That is what I thought too, the coops have wire burried 18" and there is sheet metal from 18" undergroud to the roof of the coop. I am guessing it dropped in from the tree over the run, it has chicken wire over the top of the run but a snake could fit through that. It took my a few days to figure that out. We are going to move our broody to a rabbit hutch this weekend. I just can't chance it with another snake. The rabbit hutch should be safe since it is hardware cloth on the front and back and solid plywood for everything else. At least that is my prayer that she will be safe there with her eggs. We never had a snake in the coops until I left her to set on eggs. We usually gather eggs 2-3 times a day just so they aren't in there to tempt snakes. Now I just need to get a hutch empty for her to go in, right now they are full of chicks, lol.

morning everyone! just about finished my first cup o joe, need to feed and water- looks like the little serama hen's eye is on a mend, checked her this morning and she had it open!!

gonna be hot by the end of the week, so back to early hours to get outside stuff done... i am really dreading the rest the summer!

Rise an SHINE!! Goodmorning to all, I spent yesterday outside trying to build a run for my chicks. They are getting so big, time to try an relocate them safely outside, an out of the garage (way too hot in there)
