***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I love the pictures and if there's 1 or 2 with a dial up connection then maybe they should ask that people don't hit 'quote' and re-post pictures over and over instead of blaming the OP. I certainly don't want to miss out on the original pictures. I recall Joe asked permission to post pictures and quite a few people responded with "yes!" If there's certain people who tend to post pictures of show or pet chickens (myself included) perhaps you could put them on ignore if that's not your area of interest. That would certainly be much better than taking the time to post a snide remark trying to upset someone. Just my humble opinion, of course.

I've got 4 Araucana hatched out of the 8 eggs and 3 others are pipped, way excited. 1 pipped and died but I just may end up with 7 if I'm lucky. Most are solid gray which I really wanted. I feel like I'm putting people out by posting pictures now so I'll hold off on pics :/ . Maybe later if people say it's ok.
I would love to see the pics. And so would most of us don't let one sour apple ruin the injoyment of seeing pics of others birds. PICS PLEASE

Yeah for fuzzy butts! Glad you're hatch rates are getting better and better! I for one like it when people quote the pic, half the time I miss the original

Mitzi-- no one is going to be mad looking at cute fuzzy chicks!!!
I don't have dial up but I pay $10 for every GB over 5 GB a month since we live in the land of no high speed Internet my iPhone is my Internet. Since I have the tapatalk app I don't use as much data on BYC. We have looked at other Internet options but it is so hard to get something that works @ our place. Weather even manages to hurt my iPhone signal!

Without the pictures the rest of us have no idea what we are missing! Think of all the chickens we never would have purchased if we had never seen pictures! Our place would be so lonely.

Looks like im gonna have to make a trip to lowes in a bit. need a lil more wood to make the flapper doors on the back of the coop! Plus im thinking about turning the top of it into a garden. Need to see what i can find that will vine out. Then im gonna make a draw bridge out of pallet slats. Im just so excited about castle del la coop!
Oh, I want to see pictures when you're done please? I love the green roof coops I've seen. I have kind of an idea for doing something similar with my little ark.

we have satellite, and if we max out i use my cellphone's blue tooth- but pics aren't ever a problem...:)

beep and tifany...

i adore these two...they are so soft....

and my faverolles- the girls are mary and martha- one is quite a complainer

there was someone at neocs that had large favs and i kick myself for not getting a couple... but if i grabbed one of all i wanted there we'd need new coops!!

I'm fine with it, if you are talking about me. Most people don't go overboard with it.

You will need extra support for the roof since the dirt will add tremendous weight. Then water is 8 pounds per gallon so that is additional weight. A rubber roof liner with good drainage is a must. Looked into it for the well house several years ago. Decided against it.
Alternatives include:
Window boxes attached to the side walls will give the appearance of greenery
A trellis attached to the side will train plants up and over the coop.

I was thinking about doing a few potted plants and putting water saucers under them. I do like the suggestion about the trellis. hum now wondering if i can get me a clematis. They are one of my fav flowers.
