***OKIES in the BYC III ***

ok, got another respiratory issue... increased the dosage to the right dosage- little boaz isn't looking good, have him isolated and giving him water with the denagard- he can't even crow...:(

Robin I had a roo that lost his crow & it came back. So don't loose hope.
My swollen eye pullet still has a HUGE bubble eye. She is happy & thriving though.

Thanks, Joe :) They're all 3 so gentle and sweet natured. Did your kids handle them a lot? Is that how they got so tame?

If it's MG (which is as common as a cold in humans) the Denagard should help him a lot. Poor guy,

on our way to wagoner! jerry got ahold of a guy named jimmy who has a bunch of old english game bantams.

seems he hasnt been working for a few days cause of a back injury, but said he would be more than happy to show us the birds as long as he doesnt have to chase them. thats why i have terry with me, he can chase birds!

We love to recycle stuff into coops here. Hubby built our 63' x 14' row of coops out of recycled fencing and sheet metal. The only lumber we used other than the fencing was all cut down and milled by dh. We only had to buy screws and wire. The doors are either fence panels or old screen doors a local retirement village was throwing away.

We also have an A-Frame coop built out of recycled pallets, it was the first one we built, we only had to buy the wire for that one.

Kurt built a coop for his partridge banty cochins out of recycled pallets he used left over wire from our coops and sheet metal left from our coops.

On another note Nathanael's little Opal pair are now parents to their first egg! He came home from the fireworks stand to find it, he is so happy. He wants me to set it tonight even though we don't have any other eggs to set, lol.

My little araucana chicks from Joe are also extremely quiet and calm too, but they will stand toe to toe w/ one of the bigger chicks for their fair share of cucumber!!!!! lol lol lol

Christina I have "One Eye Susan" a FBCM pullet that had her eye pecked at by her brooder mates. It got ugly looking and we treated with everything, I thought we would have to put her down until I figured out it wasn't respitory. She never had any other symptoms and acted fine. She lost the sight in that eye and it still looks swollen but it doesn't bother her. She just started laying eggs so I put her and a Cuckoo Marans pullet in an adult coop and they are doing fine. I thought the others would pick on her but so far so good. Of course she is only in with 3 other hens and one roo. But they have all been good to her so far.

Deedra, I came home to a 2nd broody she is stealing eggs as well, guess I am going to have to let her have some eggs as well. Wish they would have done this earlier in the season, lol.
