***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Is anyone going to Blanchard with fertile eggs? I've got another broody and she is building a nest and growling. So I am on the hunt again. I live just south of Norman...so if there is anyone close that would be great or I can meet you if your close.

There's a lady in Norman. I've gotten chickens from her in the past I don't know if she sells eggs. If you're interested I can send you her number in a message.

Two broodies are at it...Delilah started getting broodie on Monday and Sweet Mary settled Thursday.

The Cochin Delilah now has eight eggs accumulated so I marked them and won't let her have any more. I think only one is a cochin Aussie egg and the rest are pure Cochin.

Sweet Mary, one of Carl's CW breeder hens has decided she is going to try to sit again. I marked her 5 eggs. She gave up on eggs a week before they were to hatch last time...so I'll keep watch a closer watch on her this time. These wil be CW and Blue CW.

There are 43 eggs in the incubator and I'm sure when I candle this week, there will be room for any Sweet Mary vacates.

Have another 1/2 bushel of beets to put up and have put another 50 ears of corn in the freezer and sent corn, peppers, beets and tomatoes to the MIL

Sorry about all the keet losses. Those birds are usually more hardy than most chickens.

Quote: ok, thanks, since these are bantams, i guess i'll set up an indoor cage - just finished one for boaz and ginger- apparently boaz had heat stroke, nursed him through yesterday, and took some of those plastic shelves, covered the sides with netting- need to get a pic, i could do the same with the favs.... sigh
wonder if an ice jug would work?
