***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Been one crazy weekend. We had more birthdays in the family been working on coop as i can. Also preping for my fourth of july get together aka cleaning up the yard a bit and mowing when cool. as for keeping the chickies cool i have them under a tree as well and give them a spritz with the house durning the really hot part. been working on intergrating some of my birds together. So far goldie is given the younger chicks the cold shoulder but this is only day one. I have some others dotty and pepper, then their is lemon and sunflower that we have slowly moved them closer and closer to day we opended cage doors and thus far not a problem one. I want them to get on cuz moving day into a larger coop is comming for them.

Bill - I was hoping you'd give me feed back on my idea Do you think as long as it's glued away from the areas of new growth it'll be okay?

I don't think I would, the glue would keep the area from getting air and I imagine would cause problems, You might check with a Vet and see what they might advise to tag it.

hi guys, been in an out checking on the birds- had to bring the cochin pair from joe in, 112 on the porch and they didn't look good- doused some of the birds that looked in the worse shape, hate to think what august will be like.....

Oceanseve, you might call the Tulsa Zoo and talk to the reptile vet about the best way to put permanent information on your turtle.

Purple Martins did fly-bys at my head when I opened the barn this morning. I'm happy to see they are eating bugs in and around the barn, but they need little horns to honk before they come whizzing out. I don't want to be knocked unconscious by a bird bullet : )

The birds you show are barn swallows. They build a mud nest in the rafters of buildings and on ledges. Purple Martins are a black bird with almost purple sheen. Their tail is more triangular. The males are solid black while the females will have a light colored breast. Juvenile Martins look like the females. They like building in a multiplex house on a pole or in gourds hung from a pole. We have 5 poles with gourds hanging and have about 40 pair nesting and babies are fledging. Love to hear their dawn song.

Appreciate you posting the link. Sounds like it maight be worth following the reearch. Wouldn't want to buy Tifton 85 in dry hay form until we know it is safe.

ooo... good idea! going on the to do list there's only one vet I know of near the city that handles reptiles and I heard he retired, so I was wondering where I'd start trying to find another one. Thanks! Wouldn't have thought of that!
