***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I really do like the Rosecombs.. I have a few cockrells and a pullet or two that the spike got damaged or comb is a bit too beefy if you would like some with minor faults, they will be very cheap, just to get them out of my feed bin, or I have some good ones all intact.
Oh, get thee behind me, Satan! ;) Not building any more cages or runs this year. I'm exhausted from the ones did in the spring / early summer, and now I'm catching up on all the crap that I fell behind on while I was focusing on those. Still, they are super gorgeous.

I have one 6 week old BO, two 8 week old RIRs, and a blind 4 month old RIR who I don't think is going to make it in this heat. It sucks, because she is really sweet. I plan on getting an EE and a silkie as soon as I get my big coop built, and I start that project this weekend. I'm building it out of scrap shipping crates and pallets, but I'm completely dismantling them and salvaging the good lumber. So far for the project I have salvaged 12 12' 4x4s and 3 12' 2x4s. Lots of 4x8 3/8 sheets of plywood. My company just has this stuff crushed up, so I get it free.
So jelly of your building materials. Wish I had a contact like that.

Hi from Australia, I guess even as I write this (and woder why I am?) That my head will be literally (as in by writing) chopped off. I deal with snakes as a main predator on almost a daily (nightly) basis. My snacks range from 15foot to 2 feet. I have 16 chickens presently, 6 adults & 9 x 6wks old. I have caught & relocated 19 snakes this year. I do not kill them, why?, they are just doing their thing. Why not just catch, drop in a pillow slip and relase at least 5 miles away. I just cannot understand the death wish everyone has about snakes? I caught a 2 ft brown tree snake last night, TINY in my world & actually sat & watched it for at least an hour when I released, she was facinating.Anyway, headless I shall retreat.
PS Yes I am female.

I pack my snakes up and drive them to the medical director of the OK Herpetology society. He a vet who runs (BION!) a snake rescue. He has like 200 acres out in the middle of freaking nowhere and collects and releases snakes. I did kill one this summer in a fit of rage because I caught it eating one of my coral blue guineas. Not proud of that, but it happened.

1. I don't have the time.
2. 5 miles away is someone else's home who may not want my unwanted snakes eating their chickens eggs, either. Maybe Australia is sufficiently sparsely populated for your plan to work there, but not my neighborhood.
3. Transporting and releasing critters is illegal in the state of Oklahoma.
No need to feel chastised for posting in our thread. I know deep down, everyone wishes they were Okie.
Even in Australia.
