***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well I finally found an internet connection here in Florida. This hotel is nice but geeze they charge almost $16 a day for internet access and have no shuttles to anything around here. You would think for almost $200 a night they would give you internet!

Yet the $69 Best Western down the street gives it away free. Never have been able to figure out the economics on that.

Oh my, MacGuyver, I would imagine you have way more experience with hardware cloth than most due to all your fun creations! i hate those fiddly bits and I have 1/2 track marks allover. I hate to think what those sharp edges would do to the chicks.

All suggstions are appreciated. I'm going to look around today and see if i can find some good cutters. I'm going to take in a scrap of hardware cloth with me to see if they really do work!

Stay cool fellow chicken fanatics!

I cut right along one side of the wire square on one piece, then on the other go back and bend them all over double with a small hammer.

Happy Death Day to me!!

9 years ago today, my heart stopped and I was clinically dead for an indeterminate amount of time while on a camping trip. It stopped twice more that day before I was stabilized. Every day since that has been a gift. Life is good.

Haven't gone camping since. :)
Well Happy 9th ummm, well, living day! That's pretty amazing and yes, it is a gift!

Oh ho ho, I think you're probably venting for many people, Lynn. Our oldest son is now 18. He's a great kid, smart as a tack, going to OSU in two weeks, in the honors college, etc ... but getting him to DO anything around the house or yard is AAAUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!! And getting him out of bed in the morning is even worse. We figure in a couple of weeks when he has to get himself out of bed to get to class on time he'll start to figure it all out. And let's not even start on my 15 year old daughter ... she came home from church camp yesterday and was helpful and polite and energetic all evening but this morning she's right back into La-la land. When I asked her why, she said "Well I'm just so comfortable at home, there's not any hurry and I know you love me so ..." I assume one day she will have children of her own who feel "comfortable" at home too. Lol.

My boys are 7 and 4 and they currently get up at 6 am every single morning. I'm secretly looking forward to that part of them being teenagers, when they'll want to sleep in all morning. I'm going to really enjoy having time to myself in the house. However, I fully intend to go into their room at dark thirty every morning for the first month or so after they've started sleeping in and open the blinds, turn on loud music, jump up and down on their beds and yell "PLAY WITH ME! PLAY WITH ME! I'M HUNGRY! WHAT'S FOR BREAKFAST! AREN'T YOU GETTING UP YET! PLAY WITH ME!" Revenge will be mine! It will!

I remember my mama made a squirrel into stew once when I was young. Far as I remember it was good. I'm curious why you mentioned the squirrels though?
