***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Welcome to all new BYCer's an Guest ...We all love to hear from you an wat breed's of bird's you have an you new folk's allway's come up with new way's to make pen's an feeder's water's I never stop lerning ....So come on out an Tel us some story's ....about your bird's an stuff...

I always tarped birds with tarps made from shade cloth. I think it was like 25%, very light-duty. It was open enough to allow for air flow and it kept the birds in the shade. Teva and I went to swaps up around Wellington Ks. years ago and hauled a lot of birds like that. Hauling them in the cool with high humidity can be as bad as the extreme heat.

Buster if you are wanting a trailer check out these people here. They will custom build to your specs and are very competitive on pricing plus good to deal with. We sold their trailers for about ten years and never once had a problem with them.

Another option would be to convert an aluminum stock trailer so the inside could be acidized and then sterilized.

Barrett and Merrit both make excellent quality stock trailers but they are punch hole sides but I imagine that they could build a solid-sided trailer. much less expensive then an Exiss or 4star.

No, haven't heard. I sent them an email and will let you know when I hear back. Kidding about the 125, but will pick up as many as you and your little entrepreneur think you need. Best to wait on Mike's cages until I hear back. It isn't clear they are even selling them yet, is it?
I called them this afternoon and they said that the sale was either next week or the week after. They said to call next Monday.

Thanks. I was thinking of something a little more open. I prefer processing in the fresh, clean air of the great outdoors. Give me a good shade tree, a water source, and electricity and I am good to go.

There are three large farm equipment auctions that happen every fall around here. I'm going to see what I can snag at one of those before looking at my other options.

Here's hoping it is next week. I took a vacation week to get some work done. :)

Anybody know if they are debeaked? Nothing against those, just that they tend to have a hard time in a pasture operation. Like trying to eat steak without any teeth.
I would guess they were. I'm not sure though. I'm really only interested in getting a handful of them to satisfy my touchy-feely side. Better life and all that.
