***OKIES in the BYC III ***

OOooh, share more info about these farm equipment auctions, please?

Bridges is in Elgin and is coming up on Saturday, August 25 at 9:00. This is my favorite. Brinks is in Frederick around the same time but I don't have a date. Stahlings in Lawton is in decline but you cam still find a good deal on occasion. I'm guessing they are pretty much all over the state, though.

Enlow has an auction in Sapulpa and I think it's monthly. Roger Ensign has a quarterly auction out at Hydro. Lippard has a spring auction here at Kingfisher. There is a big three-day sale down at Idabell, scrap tractors and equipment one day and runners the other two, I think it is Brinkleys or something close. Plus watch the farm auction listings. The High Plains Journal usually has many, many pages of farm auctions across Ok, Ks and Co.

Then there is Govdeals, Govliquidation, GSA auctions and our state site DCS. Mostly government surplus but a lot can be reporposed like netting for skeeters make good shade cloth as does the half-tent shelter. Plus there are tents that can be cut up and tarps made out of them.

On DCS there will also be listings for their veh. auction in OKC which is state owned vehicles.

With the economy like it is the states are starting to sell off better quality crap. And with the mideast starting to wind down govliquidation is starting to get crowded with surplus.

Morning all, had a couple big fires up this way yesterday, it got close to my wife's boss's house but didn't get it,it is stinkin hot here, I can not even get out in it, it takes my breath away, may go to the library today where it is cooler. Cleaned the AC filter yesterday and that helps some but it still gets hot in the house in late evening as our house has the west side exposed, if I ever get the money together I am going to put a full patio cover on the west side the whole length of the mobil home, want to put a metal roof over and porch on front too, just takes time and money!!! Please take all the precautions to stay safe and cool today and do everything you can to provide shade and cool water for the animals, take care and have a great day!!! Lynn

ps, Buster wouldn't those birds be beaked if the run a pasture operation also, I think it said on their site it was a pasture based operation!!!

Just thought I would let you all know that the Guy Rose Auction (south of Stillwater on 177) has a Facebook site and they usually post pics of the misc. stuff the have brought in on Thur and Fri of each week. Lynn

I was at the parts house yesterday morning and the mgr. told me about a local farmer that had two of his tractors struck by lightning. Both were Deeres, one newer and one older, the older sustained around 1000 dollars worth of damage but the new one had all of it's electronics burned out. The main module cost $50.000 and the GPS unit was $10.000 plus all of the others like the depth control for the three point and the ground radar etc.

So does this new generation of tractor really do such a better job as the older tractors to justify all of this electronic stuff? I mean it all depends on the weather anyways.

Emach, it does look like an injury. I don't have a clue what kind of birds they are but the laced looking one with the bad eye is pretty! They do all look like they're boys.

I need to find a home for the purebred Araucana male I have. He's double tufted (curls growing out the side of his face) but has a tail, he's 5 wks old. He's free, is anyone interested?
