We live in the middle of town and yet there are days when we can't even get a cell signal. I bemoan that I have a miniature computer that I can search the internet on but I can't make a phone call from some days. Lol.
Didn't get the garden bed done before it got too dark to work. We ended up going out and someone had messed with our duck pen so we had to spend time fixing that before we could start on what we wanted to do. I'm ready to set up a hidden camera at the back of our property. Every morning this week we have gone out and opened the fence across our new driveway and have had to clean out all kinds of twisted metal, pieces of metal hangers that have been sharpened to points, metal can lids that have been bent in two, chunks of broken bricks with pointed edges, etc and now someone knocked over part of our duck pen. I'm pretty sure it's our neighbors but proving it will be a challenge. Why can't they just leave us alone????
Tomorrow will be spent in Stillwater moving our son into his dorm room and checking up on my mom. Hopefully she's getting around better. She had surgery on her foot a couple of weeks ago so walking has been off limits. It's not fun to keep her still.
Lynn, I hope you get your surgery soon and start feeling better. Being chronically ill is no fun, I know, but my asthma and chronic lung infections are nothing compared to having physical pain and not being able to even go outside. Gardening and caring for my birds is what keeps me sane in the midst of a lot of very unfun and unfair things in life. At least for the moment your wife and kids can help you out. That's a blessing.
Snapped a couple of pics of my turkeys this week so I thought I'd share. (I really hope I haven't already posted any of these ... I really can't remember)
This is one of our toms. He was so funny the day I took this and wouldn't leave the camera alone.

Here's four of them hogging the treats bowl. We always feed them treats in a green plastic bowl and they've figured out the color. As soon as they see us with one of the bowls they charge at us and then try to grab the bowl out of our hands. Today they got apples, yellow squash, and oatmeal. They wouldn't eat the yellow squash though but the chickens did. They ended up taking the bowl of oatmeal away from my daughter and throwing it all over her then trying to peck it off of her. She was not happy but managed to stand up and knock off all the oatmeal.
