***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Jcatblum, been looking at that site for awhile now. Lots of good information there and I think that may be just what I was looking for. Thanks for the link.

Erinszoo, that's a good point on the length issue. I hadn't considered that. The only reason I chose that length was because my chicken run is 30' long and I am wanting to build a raised bed along the entire side of it. I figure it will be near a water source, provide afternoon shade for my birds and since I'm out at the run every day anyway I can take care of two things at once.

I appreciate the ideas guys. I think tomorrow I'm going to scrounge around the barn to see if I have enough material to get started on this.

Please post pics. I'd love to see how it comes out!

Evening, Okies!

I hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. We may have some rain here tonight. The grass is brown and so are the trees. We sure could use a nice steady downpour : )

JOE - I can hear babies in the hatcher, probably three or four, but I haven't moved them to the brooder yet, so I don't know if they are NN or CL. They ought to be dry enough tonight to leave the hatching tray. If I could find my camera battery pack, I could take some pictures. Maybe I'll have a few to post this weekend.

The rain went north & south of us. We got NADDA!

Apparently if you have anything that you would like to stay dry, you can bring it here. It's not gonna rain here EVER!

Hello fellow Okies - I have a four week old golden polish chick - I think it is a rooster - with a fairly severe cross beak. He is the most outgoing chicken of our lot with great personality and lots of interest in people. We named him Wonky. We are not able to keep roosters and need to find a good home for Wonky. We would love to keep him because of his great personality but we do not want a rooster to disturb the neighbors. Currently he eats and drinks well on his own but some cross beak chickens require special attention to ensure they are getting enough food as they get older. We want to give Wonky to someone who has an interest in caring for his special condition. Please send me an email and let me know if you are interested in providing little Wonky with a good home. I am located in Noble Oklahoma.

Yes Michael.....We got some Regal Reds,,,,some Harvest Golds....Some Red laced choclate Turkeys..(Really Pretty)....Some Beltsville Whites....and some Midget Whites and a few Merriam Turkeys. Nutrena scares me because they say it takes about 80 pounds feed per Turkey to get them to eating size. That is scary when you have over 100 Turkleys and a couple hungred Belgian Quail....woops, I forgot Black Spanish Turkeys.......but believe it or not.......I like all the work and we certainly DONT have to buy fertilizer!!!!!!!!!!!...............Mike
