Sorry you lost her

Your right experience is a crappy teacher.

We have a hen w/ two bumble feet we have been treating, one was from a cut the other a thorn (I know b/c I got the thorn out.) Anyway here she is rocking her cool duct tape shoes

I couldn't keep the bandages on even though I got the ultra sticky ones I can never get peeled off of me, so duct tape it was, these had been in place for 24 hrs w/ her walking and sratching all over the yard all day. Right after this pic she got her "spa" tx (hot epsom salts and betadine soak) more antibiotic cream and then new shoes. lol

kass love ari!
those looking at the Sandisk cards. staples had them on sale this week.
sorry for the losses.
roger told me that two were lost in the flock this week... A Mille fleur d Anvers and. Wyandotte cross hen.

HAHA inbreed roaches now there is something I don't want to see! LOL Someone had Dubias listed on Craigslist today. No way no how would I bring bugs home. I am super paranoid about bugs so it wouldn't work around here. ALthough I know my girls would love them because they eat mice and will fight each other like crazy over a mouse.

I didn't make it to the feed store today for Deer Plot so will go tomorrow I have to get chick starter anyhow so no way can I forget haha. Total Guinea count from this hatch was 23 out of 23! That is one crowded rubbermaid tub! I have the kids setting up one of the big brooders in the basement for them. I so didn't want to set those brooders up until spring! LOL

have done that with mine too, Kass- vet wrap won't stay on, gotta love duck tape

i think i finally finished with porch coops- sheesh.... seramas are back in the studio again and my little handicap chick has decided to walk after 4 days of supplimenting with dog kibble- shawnee mills, wrote them and they thought it might be the bone meal and pork protien- honestly, this guy hadn't walked for 3 months, and i really thought he would be forever in a sling- he had tremors and couldn't bend his legs- can't believe the difference in him- just a mutt, silkie/cochin but a fighter for sure

Morning all!
Nana sorry about the losses. I imagine we all will lose a few with this weather change. Thankfully Roger is able to hold down the fort for you. My poor DH calls me a few times an hour when I am gone, he can't seem to stop being a perfectionist & realize as long as all the animals have feed & water they will be fine.

Yesterday we collected 1 lone egg. Wonder what beat us to the nest?? Maybe the snakes no the cold is coming.
Managed to sleep all night!!! First time in months, but wow am I stiff today! Kids are begging to go to the auction Saturday. I have been doing much better with new meds, but the cold REALLY hurts so I am not sure.
Starting tomorrow AM I will be making numerous soup recipes to stock the freezer with. I usually make at least 6 different triple + size recipes & then brake it up into quart size bags so we can start our meals with soup in the winter in place of salad.

Exotic birds-- Indian Blue peafowl have always been my favorite--- but I really like that green!!
So nervous I am going to end up with more peafowl on accident! Thankfully we have agreed to put acquiring animals on hold until I get an official diagnosis & DH gets his next assignment. But I know more peafowl will be in my future, just want it to be after DH retires.
