Welcome to you both Lovinchicks and KrazyKat.

Besides POOPS, there is a get together this weekend called Green Country Swap. Banjoejoe is the one with all the information on that one.
POOPS is usually in May.

They are talking chances of frost in some areas. I still have corn that wont be ready for another wk plus tomatoes green beans & melons that are not ready to die!!! Can't imagine covering my corn with a frost protector. Checked a little corn today, the worms have really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can cut the tips off & still fill my freezer.
jcatblum if you can't cover your produce is it possible you could run sprinklers on it before the frost sets in until morning, it will keep it from settling on it!!! Lynn

MJ, it's great to see you! Hooray for the little chilled baby-good for you, I'm glad you found him in time.
The Cochin yard was so covered in feathers yesterday it looked like it snowed. I went running through the gate just certain I'd find one of my precious Cochins got killed. Everyone was safe and accounted for and I picked up the Blue girl to tell her how glad I was no one was hurt and I swear-1/4 a chicken's worth of feathers just fell off

. She was born July 11' so this is her 1st molt and it's a tough one. She looks so bald and can't take a single step without leaving feathers behind. Man, I've never seen a chicken molt so bad. 2 of the Silkies I got from Betsy last year look exactly like pincushions. My little Serama (bless his pointed head) has been molting for weeks but at least he didn't do it all at once.
My poor Cochin girl.

Good morning all, welcome to the new byc okies.

Today is our 21st wedding anniversary. We aren't going to do to much celebrating today, but are planning on a short Branson trip in a few weeks.

Hello Oklahomans
I am new to BYC and looking forward to learning about everything that is going on in Oklahoma.

I have had Guineas for several years while my parents had the chickens for eggs, but I enjoyed the guineas so much this year i decided to start my own chicken flock and just really enjoying have them around. I bought several buff orpingtons and am now thinking about expanding to some other breeds for my children to care for and perhaps even show. Do any of you have suggestions for particular breeds for my 9 and 6 year old to care for easily. Thanks
