I'm excited. I'm getting chicks this week from Okieridge! Can't wait to see which ones hatch and what they look like. We're going to split some Dominiques, I have some buff cochins and I set a few eggs from my buff roo over my blue frizzle hen.

x 2! (and the coop guys complain about loading hay into our Expedition!)
Betsy, do you have any Silkies for sale? Think that I am gonna split the LB pen into two pens, one for Silkies and the other for Blue LF Cochins.
I had two other hens that were just a bit smaller than the BO's I think they were part BO anyway but I can't remember what kind of chicken they were this early LOL I know Nana had some that's how I figured out the breed, I lost one during the summer and the other when I lost my Roo to coyotes, Ok brain is warming up a bit they were Buff Minorca's LOL or part anyway I'm going to keep the odd breeds out of their pen from now on I bought those two from Blanchard and they were sold as Buff Orpingtons I didn't mind too much they were always trying to see what might be under my feet LOLMitzi - my orps from Bill are beautiful too. A friend came over and commented on the cockeral being so huge and asked me what he was.
Bill - you told me mine might be a mix of orp and something else. What was the something else? I think the boy and one of the girls are mix and they are pretty![]()

MItzi, my hens that was with Uncle Red was BBS and LB. I do have a couple of blue hens that will be ready to breed next spring if you want to split the hatch. My daughter lives in Guthrie and she is expecting our 5th GK anytime so heading up that way will be no problem in the future
Those of you with dubia colonies it makes a great home for your colony. I just got an old non working one converted and the dubias in it about a month ago and love it.HAHAHAHA That's awesome!!

Is anyone looking for a deep freeze to convert to a bator? I have a deep freeze on my back porch I want gone. It only worked for a year and then went fritzy after that. Lost me too much meat for me to trust it again. It needs a good cleaning (I was lack luster cleaning it the last time it went out), but other than that it's only three years old. I wouldn't trust it as a freezer plus it's been sitting outside exposed for nearly a year now. I think it has potential for conversion though for a handy person.
