***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Well the hatching has begun...two days early...one OEGB has pipped, zipped and popped out. One egg is rocking and I heard cheeping in another. there was movement when I candled as I put them in the hatcher...so hoping.

You quilters probably already know about this but I discovered something purly by accident today. I was experimenting for something I've been working on. I started w/ 2 solid squares, sewed 3 long seams and made 3 cuts and ended up w/ this block and it's exact opposite!!!!

I have a question. my barried rock rooster isn't crowing yet. , he is doing his job with the hens. the girls have just started giving me some eggs.
How long before he starts crowing?

What are you hatching?
I am almost ready to start setting eggs from the Birchen Rosecomb project, I really like the looks of the color on the males now that these are getting close to finished and the pullets are starting to lay. Already have my test matings from this years OE cockrells that I chose to keep and a few pullets that made the cut as well.

Good luck! I'm glad you're having a better time of it than we did. Not a single egg hatched. Still have no idea why. They all formed perfectly and went to lock down and then we had two chickens pip but never hatch and the rest just died period. I started a new run of eggs, mainly because I still had some of my khaki campbells eggs that was killed last week and wanted to set them so we'll see what happens this time. Sigh.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!
