, put it in the incubator and see what comes out of the mystery egg LOL

rofl!!! I love it! This is exactly what I'd do. Rebandage it every 2-3 days and put neosporin on it when you do.
There are a couple of good threads on Bumble Foot. One has pictures of what the infection looks like and has different suggestions for what antibiotics to use. Neosporin isn't usually strong enough. It is a form of Staff infection. I am treating one girl now that has it on both feet. I'm using a cream with royal bee jelly and goldenseal in it. I got a sample of it from Whole Foods and need to go back and get a jar. It is working alot better than Neo.

The birds that I relocated to the laying flock apparently don't feel loved by their new group. They are roosting on the metal roof of the chicken coop. I guess if they are sitting on their feet while they roost, their feet won't stick to the cold metal when it freezes. The coop is elevated about 18 inches above the ground, so the roof is really high compared to me standing on the ground. I don't think I will be able to catch them anytime soon.

i have been spraying with vetrycin wound spray which is supposed to fight staff, need to hear more about the cream- maybe upload a pic of the jar?

update on the serama mama- babies are almost 2 weeks now and they are alot of fun to watch, brought them into the livingroom to get pics

Nana is your hen still rasing her adopted chick? I would offer 2 girls to help collect pecans but they're pretty busy on our farm lately. Try to make some pecan butter if you get a chance. I buy it at least once a month for $16 for a 12 oz jar (I buy I at whole foods or sprouts) No one else in my house likes pecans but for me they are as yummy as chocolate.
Erin I think you showed great restraint when someone showed up on your property my shotgun would've came out from behind the door if some random guy was at our place--- maybe it was a visitor from your crazy neighbors.
Buster if you can train your hens to lay an egg a day 365 days a year you might be able to make money selling Eggs. I am glad you will have the mobile processing unit so you can share your skills with others close by and convert them to farm raised chickens
Anyone heard from Cathie this week she may have posted and I missed it just wondering

Saw the news Norman city Council agreed to allow chickens maximum 4 hens no roosters must have coop water and food. Those that objective were worried about disease and the smell-- guess they want to get rid of all the wild birds in Oklahoma too?

Saw the rhematoligist Monday officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Also went in for more testing not looking good -- found a nodule on my lower left lung and they're going to be removing the lower lobe on my left lung as well-- have several consults out to see if they can remove it Friday but surgeon said will probably have to wait four weeks after my liver resection for the lung surgery. They think it is to risky to do both. Waiting for the pet scan is even harder now.
Got me a nook HD+ to keep me entertained at the hospital, nice to have a new toy to keep my mid off things.
Mitzi I understand all too well you comment on testing & Drs. The dr now even said today they let this to way to long. My primary doctor submits the referal & then I am at the mercy of my insurance to find someone to take me. She has done her best, went to order her an edible arrangement & DH thinks I am crazy!!! If she hadn't kept trying I wouldn't be having this procedure-- I am so thankful she has done all she could. Thanks for letting me vent. Trying my best not to talk about things around the kids until we know a specific diagnosis & treatment plan.

Robin forgot to add. Pics of babies with their care takers are always my favorites!!
