I just candled my eggs from Okcarla, the post office was wierd and I got my package a day after someone wayyyyyy out of state got theres. Only a handful of guineas are developing. Looks like at least 5 bourbons are with 2 being ?. Im not tossing anything for another 4 days or so. I did have 3 oozing on the guinea eggs *yuck*. Nothing Carla did wrong, the packing was great, just one of those thangs with shipped eggs. Its only day 6, ill wait till day 10 to make any finaly judgements on the rest.

OKRobin-

I had a BLRW develop wry neck and I gave her Poly-vi-sol. It is infant vitamins. Make sure you get the kind that does not have iron and for the first day I gave her 2 small drops on her beak and then I just put several drops in her water for the next five days and she is right as rain today. She was so bad in the start that I thought I was going to have to put her down. Keep trying and I hope she gets better.

Sheila

P.S. She had better be a "SHE" after all that it will probably be a roo, LOL!

I don't think it is a breed issue, just more like a fertility/shipping issue, Henny just has better luck than I.

How many did henny manage to hatch out? The few pipped ones are making a tiny bit of headway but the others aint pipped yet. No worries, im just impatient lol. Keeping hands firmly off of the bator. I get so nervous during the incubating and hatching that you would think its unhealthy lol.

I think out of twenty BBS... I have maybe 5 embryos that were swimming at last candle.... Won't know about hatching till next weekend.... I have 13 mutts under my BO hen that should hatch out anytime now...lost that one that was smished...

But she is still guarding the rest and now she is not getting up at all.... should hatch out starting tomorrow. Those that are in bator I'm going to candle them hard this week sometime....hatch date is the 3rd... can't see Greybears EE embryos at all! Those are some dark shells!! Nothing is oozing or smelling. But I had that turner go down on me the first day...I don't know if that will affect them, I have been turning them 3 times a day. My Maglite went Tango Uniform on me...wrong time for that to happen! So don't give me any credit I don't deserve on the hatching!! Don told me not to expect much my first hatch...So anything I get will be a blessing....

I usually use a mixture of ham and some kind of veggie, mixed if I can find it. Beef will do if you can not find the ham. I have also used fruit like pears or apple.
