Gerald just came in from collecting eggs ... said he reached down in the cuckoo marans nest box & felt something different ... big chicken snake! I haven't gone to look, but he says it's over 4 foot and full of eggs. I guess so ... he only collected 4 eggs from there and usually gets a dozen eggs out of their pen. Anyway, he said he got the shovel and chopped it up inside the nest box.

Sorry Teach, he should have grabbed the snake and saved it for you!

I dont know what it is, but my hatches I have are producing all girls. I kid you not. I have not got a roo yet until the hatch when we had our POOPS get together. And now this last hatch they are to young to tell.

If it is a nail on a string, it better be a new nail.

Oh, I'm not really sure. I have 14 eggs. Six have hatched, three more are trying, so I should have at least 9 chicks (maybe 14

). I only wanted a trio of adult birds... I can sell a few chicks now, or wait 'till they are old enough to sex and then sell all but three.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen!
Ok so I got everything packed for summer school and am checked out at work.

I bought 8 frizzle babies from a nice lady (not our Carla, although she is nice, too) and will hopefully be getting 2-3 baby peachicks from her next week.

Tina and I were talking Tuesday at the Noble auction about going together on a order of bourbon red poults from McMurrys. The minimum order is 15 and they will not combine chicks with poults. I talked to them a couple of weeks ago to ask about their breeding stock and the lady I asked said they have over 20 breeding groups of each breed of turkey they sell except the narragassett which they only have 10. I will have to admit I did not ask for clarification on what she meant by breeding groups, but she said it was very slim possiblity of getting poults that are related.

So having said that is anyone interested in ordering some baby turkeys. You do not have to order bourbon reds. Tina only wants 3-5, I am want only 5 and that would leave 5-7 needed to fill the order. The poults are 9.24 each and shipping ends up being a little under $1 a piece.

If anyone is interested let me know and maybe we can get an order in the weekend.
