I'm talkin to a guy in OK that's selling silkie roos for $5, bearded and non. He's got 2 whites, 1 red, and 4 that were supposed to be blue but supposedly look more black. Let me know if you're interested. But you'll have to fight me, I want em all!

Anyone interested? I got a few pictures. He lives about 30 miles W. of Ft. Smith, AK. And said he'd meet half way. I would like a couple, but I don't want him to waste the drive if its just for me.

I do not have chickens at this point, I'm still in the learning phase.

When I get moved, hopefully before summer, I'll be stripping the existing coop down to the frame. It's in sad sad shape right now.

Previous owner built it with gaps of about 1/2" between planks, then bought 25 chickens, which were quickly picked off by predators. That was a few years ago and they hadn't had chickens since.

I really like the shape and variety of the Wyandotte. I'll have to do more questioning to make sure they can tolerate Oklahoma summers.

When I finally do get moved, the closest town will be Locust Grove.

I'm really enjoying this entire site.

I am a new Okie to BYC. I live in Broken Arrow and will be ordering my chicks this week. I really look forward to the world of chickens. I have numerous other birds; parrots, finches, and a canary, 3 desert tortoises, 4 dogs.

Oh! The Cement poultry auction is this Saturday. I think my grandmother is going with me.

When I went to look at it today they were filming; I was embarrassed.

Well I wasn't on it, thank goodness. *ha* I feel bad for the boy; I seriously doubt he meant to create such a huge fire. People were in the buildings all the time messing around, even homeless people who probably started fires. But the timing is very ironic, with the building in the process of being sold, and the asbestos mess that was going to have to be cleaned up... We all think its very suspicious.
