Okies in the BYC The Original

You guys won't believe this one. So last April or May I got new windows - the expensive double-pane energy efficient kind. Today the owner of the company who sold them to me called to complain that it's been a year and I still haven't paid for them. Hello...just because I'm blond doesn't mean I'm stupid! I told him just what his fast-talking sales guy told me a year ago when I bought them - that in only ONE YEAR these windows will pay for themselves! Well, it's been a full year...they're paid for!!

There was just silence on his end of the line after that, so I hung up. I bet he felt like a bozo.

City you are cracking me up! You know you wanna see us again! Come on down to the city...have some Italian food...sit with an Italian guy...Stimp will tell you a story! I will look dashing and cuddly...(is that a possible combination?

Al - if you see anything I can't live without at the auction

Carla - you are the bomb girl!

Teach...dashing? that word may not mean what I thought it meant!

I do want to see you all again! Stimpy is probably really missing me by now. I do like those tall dark Italian men - especially the ones that can cook!! And it's a darn shame to miss seeing a fella from the OK Panhandle when one gets down this way.

I keep trying to figure a way that I can be in OKC for lunch next Friday, but so far I don't have it worked out...I'll be in TX Monday-Thursday next week, and Friday I have to pick up some equipment east of Tulsa. I'll keep working on it.

Hi everyone!

I have offically been to my first acution!!!! I had a great time (except getting up early). I didn't spend mega bucks but thanks to John (bigokies friend) I got a great little chicken house (use to be for ducks?) made of all metal & my husband loves me cause it's one less he has to build. Oh the best part is I only gave $25.

I didn't even stay for the whole thing either! The dust was so bad an John & Okie were ready to go, since they were helping me load my find!!!

A great big thanks to them both for helping me load and John thanks so much for showing me the ropes! I will go again (anytime I get a chance)!!

Oh you also did a great job strapping it down, it didn't move! The wind resistance was there but I didn't have to drive as slow as I thought I would.

John cost me a dollar but then he gave me a strap to tie down with so I guess we are even.

Chuck stayed with the chickens and I did my best to stay away from them!

If I didn't have to pick up my little girl tomorrow I might even try to make the Coweta auction!

Carla I did see one large box of hatching eggs that the lady had marked 2.50. I don't know if they were auctioned or if she was just selling them while sitting there. Maybe Chuck will know.

Dashing ? Teach?
In that case,
Here is a song about Teach

(In the key of Jingle Bells)

Dashing off I go
Like a blind horse craving hay
Oer the wheat fields blow
Can't believe a word I say

Cute and Cuddly I am not
But I'll tell you that I am
I hope I can convince
If not I'm in a jam

I have a brunette wife
But blondes are still my pick
I like the redheads too
but Silkies make me sick.

I'm going to OKC
To take a test and eat
I'll swap some birds and trade some eggs
I know it will be neat.

Cityclucks, I hope you're there
If not I will be sad
Stimpy makes my laugh
But Beth is much more Rad

This song is really cute
and Monty is so smart
I'm glad he wrote it just for me
Dear Lord just Bless his heart.

OHHH! Lies I'll tell, my truck smells
But I'm still on my way
I'll get there with all my hair
And have the grand-est day!!!

Quote:
Good job Monty - I love it! Now I know who to sub out my next writing job to!!

I'm off to work at the Tulsa Talons game - see ya'll later!

Monty - good job - And, I'm betting Teach will sign up for a
"Poetry" class next and send you the instructions and
paper...........LOL

Well, look at the race this way.........Another "Bird" pulled it
off !!!!! Go figure, if I'm not there, I can pick 'em.....Only bet
"show" tickets, but would have doubled my money.....LOL

And, another question for anyone that will be at OKC the 12th.....
Does anyone want some Langshan chicks, from 2 to 5 weeks
old? They are the Blacks and our parent birds came from
Kenny Kivittum. They are super good layers and hatch like
crazy. The parent birds will be shown at Tulsa, Fayetteville,
and Shawnee if the creek doesn't rise........They are "standards".

Yup, we're like the rest of you.....we're up to our necks in
birdies............

Have a good one !

Hi guys- what do you do about sour crop? one of my pullets has it, enlarged mushy crop- i've been massaging it throughout the afternoon, she seems better- gave her oil soaked bread and yogurt- then the BR roo crowed for the first time and she was off my lap like a shot! been reading where wet chick feed can cause a problem? they love dampened crumbles...so guess that off the list

Evening all
Well everyone should be showing up here pretty quick unless they are still at auctions! I went to one today, I took a box of 17 bantam rooster chicks, that I culled out of one group, only had 5 pullets in the whole bunch!
barnie.gif
I also took 5 of the baby ducks, everyone thought they were geese they were so big. Only thing I bought was 5 half grown bobwhite quaile!
celebrate.gif
I have been wanting to get some,They were $3 each,They had boxes of five white phaouh(spellig?) they sold for $5 each bird and one guy took all 15 birds!
hu.gif
I would have thought the bobwhites would have cost more. I have some belgian quail bantams the same size as the quail and I put them all together,Do you think there will be any problems doing that?
