Sooner I think I know which one you bought. I was looking at it. No I didn't buy either one of the kennels. I think the bigger one was 140. I know the smaller one went for 140. It was 12x8 and over 6 foot tall. Very good shape.

You guys took a beating on your birds! Is it always that way?

I will post a pic of it tomorrow. I checked out the kennels, really 140 wasn't bad considering they are 70 or 80 a panel at the feed store here for the 4 1/2 tall ones.

I thought it was a good price for the size and like I said it was in very good shape. I was kicking myself for not bidding. I do some stupid things at auctions sometimes. I looked at it and decided I would go 150 on it. I just stood there and let it go at 140. Duh!

A guy was standing beside me telling me you can buy the 12x12 at 6 foot tall for 220 new at store. You know what I was thinking don't you?

yes we did we gave $8 apiece on them.they were under a year old just had a few picked feathers.i get around $12 all the time an thats cheap comared to what they had been bringing at the auctions $14 to $18 an i seen some the day of POOPS go for $36 apiece for some white ?????? hens.i just got a email on buying 125 4 month pullets.all some very nice birds an dont know wether i should invest in them or not im skeereed:he

That's what my wife basicly said to me, but not that nice. She was really rubbing it in on me. She asked why I go to an auction and only buy an old chain. She was teasing me but she thought I should of bought it.

One can never have too many chains or straps. With the rusty ones I would just hook them to the ball on the bumper and then drag them down the road a ways to polish them up a little, dirt road of course.

PnB, I think I know which side of that line you are on.

Have you been sick? Rumor has it you went to an auction and only bought a bucket or two.

Unless you want to roast them with the skin on, you can use the method my 86 year old neighbor taught me. After we cut off the head, feet and evicerate the insides, we pull all the skin and feathers off at the same time. Break and cut the wing at the joint and it is like taking a shirt off a doll. I can butcher a mean rooster in less than 30 minutes with that method.

Yeah your right. My son was using my other chain and one of the hooks came off without him knowing. We never could find it. I paid a dollar per foot for this one and like you said it won't stay rusty for long.

That is an excellent idea on how to get the rust off of chains. I will suggest that to my better half, who has bought many a rusted logging chain at an auction.

If I had arrived at the Jones auction when it first began, I am confident I would have gone home with more than just 12 blue buckets with lids (see, I couldn't buy just one lot of 6 - I had to get two lots) It was only the second time I have attended an auction for less than $20

I saw your post about Blue Cote - is there a spray for that stuff? The bottle I have just has a dropper type lid - and I generally wear it on my hands for a few days after doctoring the hind feet of rabbits.
