I am sold on using it as wormer, just not sure about when to start giving it to him with his current problem. It is true that with certain worm problems that you will have to use a commercial wormer if they are completely infested, but DE will prevent problem and kill most. It's great for fly control, mites, algae killer, etc.

Do you just have 1 goat?

The reason that I ask is because goats are really social animals and being alone can add stress in addition to the stress from the move. Your goat needs a friend. They can and will bond to other animals when kept in the same pen but then you have problems with whatever feed that animal has. Chicken feed is not good for goats! You might consider another goat if you don't already have one and can afford it. Sometimes if a goat has triplets you can pick up the 'runt' for cheap and bottle feed it. Your daughter might have fun with that too.

Sorry, didn't see you post til after this!

No problem, I thank you for all the help and advice. The nanny belongs to the neighbor, they don't want it bred again because she has problems so it worked out great for them and us. She was pretty wild when we got her but now she want petting and loving just like the little one. He was already tame, he likes to be loved on and played with.

I haven't looked for it yet but my first couple of places would be MFA Feeds and Katy's downtown. I am pretty sure that if they don't carry it the others won't.

Did you get your coop finished? What did you decide to use for the top?

Katy's doesn't have it, haven't tried MFA- where are they at?

i am thinking of trying shade cloth on the run, the coop is all wood- combined on our wrap around porch- hopefully being next to the house will deter coons and stuff like that

MFA is over by Shawnee by pass on one of the streets behind and west of the burger king. Sorry I don't know the street name. You should be able to find them in the phone book.

Shade cloth won't hold up very long if your genias (SP) start roosting up there.

No, I have never attended that auction, although we have heard tales about it for years (regarding bargains on non- poultry stuff) It is a bit far to drive, unless we begin by Checotah early on a Saturday morning.

I will look forward to that also. I have missed you spending time on this thread. Of course, even if you aren't feeling like being humorous all the time, we love to "talk" to you.

Take care Stimp. Hope all is okay.

We still haven't gotten our show goats for this year. I think we might go for a Boer crossed with a Savannah. Haven't seen them but apparently it gives them the big wide top they are currently looking for. To win the animal just about has to be as wide as itis tall! Think show cattle of the 60's. Guess we will play the game!

The chirping is about to drive me insane! no wise cracks! Okay I know short drive...very funny! I love hatching! The only problem is the bator will be about empty next week!
