Gerlald would love to have some more ex-military stuff strewn around our place. He's bid on some old wreckers at the DRMO here in Oklahoma City, but they always sell higher than he wants to pay - thank goodness! He sure likes the pic's & price of the dump truck that Don showed him. He's still trying to find a way to go check it out, but he did share the info on it to several other guys that say they want it.

Luckily, no ex-military airplanes are sold to private buyers, or we'd probably have a few sitting around the acreage.

The govt either will send old planes to the bone yard or cut them up for salvage metal only. I don't know why.

I think Gerald's next job after he retires needs to be working at a military museum. Maybe then he'll get his fill of it all & won't need more, more, more. Same for me ... I'm gonna try to work for the OKC zoo an animal shelter or maybe a vet's office. Hmmm ... now that I think of it, I doubt if that'll make me stop collecting critters.

Yeah Don, if I get a new house ... it WILL NOT have chickens living in it with us. Now, the old house may be full of them

but not the new house!

Gosh, nobody is talking this evening.

OK, so i'm going to start rambling then ...

Well, this isn't chicken related, but I want to brag about my cousin's boy, Ethan Biddy. He'll be a senior at Tuttle High School this fall and he is a great scholar and football player and all around good kid. His family is very special to me, because they are close relatives. My aunt & uncle used to live next door to my parents for quite a while, until my uncle remarried and built a house next to my cousin's house and my sister's house. My dear, sweet aunt was one of many that perished in the Oklahoma City Bombing. My cousin's wife also worked at the Murrah Building, and my cousin's son was a member of the daycare there. My cousin's wife was home on maternity leave with her second son when the building was bombed. Thanfully, she hadn't returned to work yet or there might have been 3 more deaths. Anyway, I'm very proud of this family .... very good Christian people.

Ethan now has a website that my cousin developed. Apparently, many good high school students with athletic abilities have them, to enable them to be "seen by more recruiters". So, if anyone here would like to check out his website, here it is: http://ethanbiddy.com/ the highlight video of his junior year (football) is good, if you like football that is.

I will definitely be taking off work to see as many of Ethan's games this year as I can, and if anyone wants to see some great high school football ... come join Gerald and me!

Oh, but the 2nd son of my cousin is the chicken person in their family. Lane has a chicken pen full of chickens that I gave him and a bourbon red turkey hen. The bourbon red hen got broody this summer, so Lane placed a bunch of chicken eggs under her ... she's raised a lot of chicks this summer!

I know ... I've been watching it on the radar, thinking the same thing. We haven't had any rain since the 4th of July, and were lucky to get that.

Here is a video my brother posted on Utube, after going to a bird show at Disney world. It goes to show you that birds can be counted on to do what comes naturally, regardless of their surroundings.

In case anyone is curious, Fabreeze does a pretty good job of getting rid of skunk odor on tennis shoes and the cell phone you carry in your jeans pocket. I caught one in a live trap while my husband was out of town last week. Fortunately, I didn't get sprayed - directly. Unfortunately, the skunk got away (long story that doesn't make me look very bright), but it was extremely wet when it left.

Wow we actually got somewhat of a break from the heat today!!I got home from work it was cloudy with a good breeze I must say that it was pretty nice! We had heck of a storm move through last night but no damage Thank God!!! Now all I have to do is pray for a nice day tomorrow and mow 2 more acres and I will be done for this week!!!

hi all, sweltering here, but the chickens seem to have adjusted to the heat.

please pray for our neighbor Josh, he lost his wife Melissa Friday nite, he had gotten home from work, is an EMT, came out of the shower and she had choked to death on a grape. They have 2 little girls, a 3 year old and a 1 year old- we are all pretty stunned- thanks!

and Spike the paralyzed silkie is hanging in there, pooping normal for the first time since this all started, eating and drinking, moving his wings occasionally and stretching his legs- praying for a full recovery

Cammie, well my four duckies are "regular" Pekins... they look just like your Ollie from her picture...but they don't have blue bills!...maybe she is just cold
