Morning all.

I have lots of family in Hartshorne area Buster. My grand father, great grandparents are all buried in the Hartshorne cemetery.

Yes KT she already has daddy wrapped around her finger. Yep he is done. What is funny he swore he was not going to hold ANY baby. She took about 14 cc's of milk by mouth yesterday before she gave out. That was her 1st mouth feeding. That is GREAT. That child was so determined to be here with us so early, she is determined to go home. Oh boy does mommy have her hands full with her for the next 18 years.

Ha! My wife and I were both born in Madera, we went to Fresno State, and I have a half brother who still lives in Clovis. Small world.

That is one beautiful state, with many interesting things going for it, but man I'm glad we came home (my grandma was born in Indian Territory in the 1890s and my dad was born and raised in the Wilburton/Hartshorn area, both of them buried in the Mountain Station cemetery).

Life is so much better here.

My Mom is in a Nursing home in Madera and my sister lives in Raymon in the Foothills, I was Born in Tulare and lived their the my first 12 Years..
Then my parents got their head back on straight and Moved to Arkansas, which is a pretty state I just always felt Oklahoma was home to me, everytime we would visit over here I didn't want to go back, and I am only 15 miles away..Oklahoma is just home and always will be.

Graceful,
Thank you for the poultry show information - and now I know for certain when the Shawnee show is as well. I hope you were able to do a cut and paste from somewhere - that was a lot of information!

We lost electricity for about 8 hours with the storm that went through OKC yesterday evening. This morning I am going to dissasemble a huge tree limb that fell on my bee hives in the storm. For some reason, my hubby isn't anxious to use a chain saw to get that limb out of there

so guess I will use some hand tools and take it apart in smaller pieces - since I don't see anything wrong with wearing a bee suit.

It's so cool and nice here this morning - I wish I could get outside and clean up the yard and mow, but I have too much pesky work to do. Tomorrow morning, for sure!

I hope everyone's power is back on and that storms didn't do much damage.

Yes P&B - Will your hive survive? Are your bees doing well? I thought of you a couple of days ago when there were about 15 bees buzzing around the sunflowers in my garden.

It is cool...
Just got home from Seattle. It was COLD their. One day I got lost and drove around in the trees for hours. Most days I was in a jacket.
Its normal I guess to not get any eggs when its cold Im guessing. My dogs eat them some days if they see them and I dont. Just kindof weird not having any.
AnnaBell wants a goat and a cow now....Do you guys know any thing in that area or maybe their is a board for that ?

We lost power about 2 hours last night, and Mike had to go in because the wind hit town pretty hard. So he was gone for a bit. but we got s pretty decent storm. Rumbled around for awhile and cooled things off. I can't believe how nice it is outside this morning. I just want to put it in a bottle for later. Hens are so happy. Out grubbing and scritchin'. I haven't the heart to tell them the heat will be back soon.

Have a great day, fellow okes and enjoy it while it lasts!!!

Good morning everyone looks as though everyone is off to a good start this morning!! Just another long boring day at work for me today! Looking forward to the beautiful weather for us this weekend highs in the low to mid 80's with lows in the high 50's!!!

Welcome home Beth! You've probably already looked there, but the BYC sister site BackyardHerds has forums and goats and cows. Here's a link.

Wow. Great minds. Wife and I just decided (as in yesterday) we were going to get goats as our project for next year. I have a heart condition and am on a low-fat diet. Besides rabbit (which we start when it cools off in the fall), goat is about as low as it gets as far as low fat meat goes. Thanks for the link!

I'm looking into the Marlow Goat and Sheep Auction. Anyone know anything about that?
