I thought they had closed the jones auction ?? are they still doing poultry ??.

AL

Jones no longer does a poultry auction, but on Thursday night they have had a horse, goat, and cow auction, with lots of tack and horse supplies and misc. farm related items for umpteen years. You get a permanent bidder's number and since Teva's number is only 3 digits, she was one of the original buyers whenever it began. My bidder's number was procured about 8 years ago and it is in the 3000 range. I have seen some chickens and rabbits sold there from time to time on Thursday night, but not many.

Are you taking maybe's for POOPS? I'm two

. As of right now, no clue what is going on around that time so I can't commit. But I really want to go as I had to miss the last one.

I hate being broke.

I really, really want to build a coop/run and have some chickens but am so broke I'm not sure how we're going to make it til next payday and pay all our bills.

And any coop/run I build has to be Dax proof. He looks cute, but he is fast and wants to jump on things to play with them.

Okay, so I found this:

However, I found nothing concerning Ideal Hatchery on the Texas Department of Agriculture website. This person, fattie, lives in Maryland, Ideal Hatchery is in Texas. I also looked up the Maryland Department of Agriculture and nothing is posted there either. I don't know if they're posting false information or what. They have not provided an official letter or notification. This could be why the original thread was deleted.

I looked on the Texas Dept of Ag website also and couldn't find anything about hatcheries.

I am looking for specifically polish crested (black w/white crest, black or silver laced), dark braums, as well as, white, splash and silver cochin. Oh and americaunas, especially some of those blue ones. These need to be pretty young so I can intergrate them in with the little flock. It seems like my chickens have a better survival rate when they start out young here.

Hope to see some of you at the auction tomorrow night.

Yes that was it !!!! see I am not crazy and seeing things, yup thats the thing coming out of Ideal alright. so now what do we do this info??. I do know the last time ideal had a problem it too was brushed under the rug and no further mention of it on any AG sites. But folks were ordering birds and they were dying by the truckload.

Well I finally got the condo painted inside and out, if it wasn't moving it got painted. It took 20 gallons of paint the color is a little to light but what the heck all the paint came from leftover jobs this yr, so I just mixed them together and got a light biege I guess. I am wore plum smooth out, I will try and post a few pic's tomorrow.

The Texas Department of Agriculture doesn't regulate poultry, according to the lady I talked to there today. You have to contact the Department of State Health Services. I didn't have a chance today (in class all day) but will on Monday.

Muesky -
If you see Chiclooker and Oldmotherhen at the Blanchard auction tonight, please tell them we have missed them on Okies in the BYC.

I am working a table for the Noble Beekeepers this morning at the Noble farmer's market and coordinating my church's blood drive tomorrow morning, so I won't be able to make it to Blanchard myself. There have been too many early mornings this week to have a late night tonight, although I too am beginning to have auction withdrawals.

Fortunately, I have baby chicks, keets, ducklings and poults all over the place and am selling rather than buying rabbits, so there isn't anything I even want to find at an auction. But yeah, I do like the nachos, popcorn and atmosphere - and visiting

Supposed to be another scorcher today, so everyone take care and stay in the shade when possible.
