yes I need one so I can breed some different colors

Morning Shidalgo
What other breeds of pheasants do you have and how do I know if my Golden pheasant trio is dark throated or just the regular garden variety?

Morning Okies :

Looking a little grey out there this morning, I have been only getting 2 eggs a day since the attack, what a change, I need more laying hens. I have a black sex link hen going broody on me, it may be her attempt to replenish the flock by herself, she was the lone surviving laying hen in that one main coop, has anybody ever heard of this kind of behavior.

Well I finally got some pictures of my chickens uploaded. I can't find my camera so I ended up using my phone. Sorry if they don't look too good.

Gorgeous! Fat and sassy! I think you are right on on the breeds.

What an awesome morning. Got to clean the coops in a thunderstorm and it rained briefly!! My girls were hiding in there with me. Silly hennies.

Sean, hope your gut is better...

If you can figure out why a hen decides she wants to go broody, you can write a book and make lots of money. I think the black sex links tend to be broody. Of the 5 large fowl hens I had go broody this year, 3 were black sex link, one was a red sex link and one was a buff orphington.

You really think they are fat? When I pick them up, it feels like there is nothing there. They free-range and they get fresh fruit and veggies plus layer pellets. they hardly ever finish the pellets every day, but it seems like they are not gaining any weight. Their breastbone sticks out and I worry about them.

As far as breed, I'm not too certain. Most of the hens and the rooster are the dark red. There is only the one in the picture that is light.

They are definately sassy. They think that they own the world. They definately own me!

I have just started see some small production from the garden, harvesting Zuccini/squash/cucumbers and have dried about 2 qts each of basil/oregano/parsley. Tomato's/beans/peas have not started yet but are on the verge, the Tomato plants had put on blooms back last month then that heat wave dried them up now I may have the same thing happening now.

Not fat, fat. Healthy fat. Must be nice to free range. I can't because of my neighbors dog...

Why do people in rural areas always assume it's OK if your their dog roams on your property using the restroom and every other thing?

Thanks for your input.

They could be part Game chickens..Game chickens are notably lighter weight for their height and length than you would expect..Though usually their breastbones don't stick out, in hot weather, they do eat less.. The one at the lower left looks similar to my half Game roosters, except yours' tail feathers are not as long or bent downward..
I MEANT THE ONE ON THE LOWER RIGHT..
