Okies in the BYC The Original

That would be like if two members were talking about a third in PMs and one of the two sent one of the PMs to the third party. The third party could turn the PM in to a moderator for formal complaint and disiplinary action.

I like to read what everyone has to say here, so several times a day I turn my computer on to read what the Okies have been chatting about. I saw what was written before the posts were censored and I honestly can't see what anyone posted that caused offense. All that was discussed was that another state had more stringent rules & regulations on their Chickenstock. which ultimately caused some displeasure with someone. Apparently we don't have the right to discuss any rules/regulations or voice our opinions because it could possibly be taken personally by someone else. Very sad

I agree with TJ's Nana ... I wonder if we're allowed to discuss Oklahoma's rules & regulations, since the majority of us live in Oklahoma ... or is that off limits too?

On a more pleasant note, Gerald and I went to the Blanchard auction last night & sold a cage full of silkies, quite a few roosters, some guinea chicks and lots of veggies. By the time the auction was winding down, prices were quite low on birds. One of our welsummer roosters only sold for 25 cents. Gerald and I had agreed before the auction that we wouldn't P.O. the roosters though, since we have so many still. So, somebody sure got a bargain. We had the pleasure of visiting with Muesky, Chicklooker and OldMotherHen while at the auction too. So, we had a great time.

Carla nice to see you all had a good time at the auction I am going to make it to a auction down your way when I get the kids off to school again and all the school stuff dealing with school organized!! What birds do you and Gerald plan on taking to POOPS?? I am going to take a load of the Silkies that I bought when you guys were up here as well as some Bantam Cochins

Boy is it hot here today. I got up early and did some cleaning and reworking the pigeon loft. Now that I'm down to only one breed in the loft I didn't need partitions so took those down and opened it up to give more room. I also keep my broody hens in the loft. I place them in small cages and allow the chicks to run free. They seem to do good that way. Also keeps the hens from fighting each other. Then I got the new birds from the auction yesterday put away in their new homes. I really like the black cochins. They are a lot better quality than my golden laced ones.
On the bright side, had a really nice couple drive all the way up from Alanta and bought the last of my cage birds!

Made up for the poor sales at the auction yesterday. My wife said "wow! They must be crasier than you to drive that far just for 8 little finches!' she was referring to my habit of running all over creation when I want to get some new bird or animal. But I have never went taht far! Yet!LOL:lau

Ok I think I woke in a FOWL temper!! The more I thought about our reprimand the more it aggervated me. I have read over 95% of the 21,537 posts and never once has anyone been ugly.
AND IF someone has gotten out of line, they was gently reminded that the Okie Chickenstock was a family affair and the beer bash wasn't necessary to have a good time.We wanted to make sure everyone felt comfortable to let their kids be kids.

And I have been called redneck, backwoods, hillbilly, a hick. I have been video taped by my BIL and sister over how my chickens "just run around the yard" and how ALL their friends would think that is just so............blah, blah, blah.

So to consider my self an elitist and critical of others just plain makes me mad.

So I think I should do a couple of things,
1) No tuna before going to bed!
2) Don't work anymore night shifts.
3) And ignore posts I don't want to read, but I didn't think it would EVER be here in OUR OKIE spot.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement and support for everything!!

I calling some fellow Okies to see if they want to come over for a Pow-Wow and see if they want to stand around and watch the chickens do chicken things!

I need another Dr. Pepper!! And 6-8 more hours of sleep!

You know what... I am just not going to comment on what all has been said these past few pages. So, this is me --->

Okay, I might let one little song slip out: "I love my Okies oh yes I do, I love my Okies now how 'bout you? chachacha"

Anyway, I am so very excited about our next POOPS! I get to see all my best-est poultry friends

Might I suggest that we not violate the Prime Directive of the BYC forum by continuing to question its moderation? I would hate to see this thread locked because of it. I depend on it heavily for good information and companionship.

Remember this is just a thread. It is not our own little forum. Perhaps it would be best to take further discussion of recent events off the table.

The problem was not the subject matter of the posts. It was the flaming, which is against the BYC Rules. If you need more specific information, contact a Staff member.

See my response above.

As for the question about PMs, they are generally considered private. Only Administrators have access to PMs, and the Administrators rarely look at them.

TheBarnSwallow, here is a link to whole bunch of banners you can use on your own site to link back to BYC:
