Monty - Thanks for the offer on the pens, but I should be ok. I'm trying to stay small... Especially since I don't know where I'll be headed next.
Yonderoak - Yes, Shawnee is in Decemeber, and it is awesome! I think I've even talked my other half into going with me this year. *ha*
Well I was outside making pretty good way on my pens... And there's a sudden downpour! I mean, I knew it was coming, but where was my notice!? *ha* So I scrambled to get all my tools inside, hammered my hand once, and came in to post.

Thanks Country! We went to the Shawnee show last year, but I didn't get to stay very long, as my sister was graduating and I had to go be supportive
. I am starting to think that we will never get enough pens built, but I am told that we are getting pretty close so I am crossing my fingers.
Yonderoak - How many pens are you building? And how many birds do you have/plan on getting??
Just found out my Marans are mixed Cuckoo/Blue Copper, which explains the odd coloring. I'm still happy to have them though! Maybe that one will be true Cuckoo, then I can get another from Monty.
Country- We just got through building 7 to add to the other 13 4x12 pens we have for keeping the bantys separated. We are planning on building a few big flight pens this fall. We have about 20 different kinds of banty's 10 colors of oeg's, 7 colors of cochins, partridge wyandotte banty's, barred rock banty's, and rhode island red bantam's. We also have standard Buff orpington's and welsummers plus a few turkeys.
Makes my 2 chicks in a bucket seem silly. I really need to expand. Where do you live??
Cuban - The person who sent me the eggs said something about Goldens... Got any pictures of that? I'm inheriting a Barred Rock pullet, so I MUST get a BO roo, those are gorgeous!
Country-Doesn't seem silly at all, we started all of this because I saw some mille fleurs at a flea market that I just loved. We didn't end up buying those, but later it started us going to the auctions looking for more. Every time we saw a breed we really liked, they ended up going home with us!
We live in Tribbey, which is between Shawnee, Norman, and Ada.

You will get sex-links if you put a buff orpington rooster over your barred rock pullet. So your females would likely be black, with gold in the hackles.
Mine were all made with a barred rock rooster over buff orpington hens.
I don't have any golden cuckoo photos, but Carla or Monty might.
