I am the short keep ya warm in the winter and shady in the summer kinda gal and the hubby is tall dark and handsome too. HA HA

Al--aren't you the sly one on tricking your wife. That's like putting the frog in warm water and turning the fire up slowly cooking the poor critter. I guess if it works your chickens won't mind. LOL

Al and Sooner-- It thrills my heart to hear folks talk about using and teaching manners. I teach school and the vast majority don't have a clue what GOOD manners are. I teach 4 and 5 years olds and if they don't learn anything when they leave my class they will learn manners.

I don't let them get away with answering "YOW" or show disrespect. I teach them to say excuse me, hold the door for others, appologize when needed, etc. It is a pet peeve of mine not using good manners that should start at birth at home. Ok, I'll get off my soap box.

Wow, sounds like everyone is having date night tonight. My husband came home from work at lunch and announced that we were going out. He even lined up a babysitter. I was shocked.

My son and I put a new sidewalk in our front yard today. It doesn't look perfect but it looks pretty good. I put my chickens in lockdown this morning and loaded the bator with ducks. I hope everything hatches alright.

I want to wish everyone a good evening. I hope you guys have fun.

My kids both learned manners by the time they turned three. They both say sir and ma'm. They apoligize and say excuse me. They use please and thank you. But then my daughter also learned to say "Oh S**t!" in the right context when she was two. She has stopped saying now but it was cute yet troubling.

one of my little nephews used to say "oh ship!", using it in context for what i am SURE he heard his daddy say, and another used to say "damage!" but they were broke of that, pretty quickly!
amazing what they come up with, at that age!

Howdy folks! Been doing the working on the classroom thing. My beautiful wife redid my chairs and I think they look better than the new ones the school bought!

Al - bring the family up and not only will you get to watch the feeding frenzy but i will let you get a snake hug! If not that then I will video a feeding episode...you want all the snakes and lizards or just the big boy?

Yo guys were having way too much fun last night!

My boys are supposed to say yes sir and no mam, hold doors and be respectful. I think they do it most times and they remind me to say prayers! I don't have to whack to often.

By the way...kinda feel off the wagon...on my fourth DEW!!!!

I am a little amped...so anybody wanna run around?

Mayla bantam...we do have those shamos...have three pullets that are about ready for a mate...

Howdy all my rowdy friends!

Got to run by the local auction this morning. Walked in on a duck sale and got four!

One pair of mallards and a magpie drake and a yellow mallard hen. The yellow hen I will puy with my cascade colored topknot drake. Wish I could have gotten a magpie hen,the drake is gorgeous.
I have been moving chicks back inside and putting them under lamps. Supposed to get down in the 50's the next few nights and don't want them droopy if I can help it.

Set two more broodys yeaterday,27 eggs total!

I hope more set. I like to get fall hatches,seems to be more pullets in the fall ffor me.
