We just got back from the Blanchard auction. Gosh, prices were sure low today .... chicks selling for as low as 50 cents each even.

We only took hatching eggs, canteloupe and some guinea chicks, so we did ok .... except for PO'ing the guinea chicks since they wouldn't even bring $2 each.

Too bad we didn't have any flemish giant rabbits to sell though ... they were selling for over $100 each.

We bought some young blue splash marans and a cage, barely making an even trade on what we sold. The highlight of our evening was visiting with all the BYC Okies that were there, along with other poultry addicts.

Jim, aka Buster52, sure did get some FANTASTIC bargains at the auction. He and his wife are pro's

Rebecca, aka Muesky, scored some beautiful cochins too!

How's everyone doin? Anyone floating away yet? I FINALLY got rain at my house! Its just been a steady light rain, the rivers aren't even up any. We went fishing all day yesterday, can't wait to go try after the rain's done! Hit up Bass Pro and Academy Sports today, got all kinds of new fishin goodies.

I can't believe I keep forgetting about the auctions!

I need people to start reminding me! Lol

Carla - Were the rabbits really that high priced???

How late did the auction go? Did you really just now get home??

Don't hit one with your car either.

We had a bull wagon hit a Pheasant once at around 90mph. Took out the grill and put a hole through both the radiator and A/C condensor. Well over two grand in damages so I can imagine what a buzzard would do!

We picked up a tad bit more rain today but only about 1/2 an inch. Just enough to keep guys out of the field today. Built a dog pen and got more stuff for Teva's truck, cleared out an old fence row and am getting ready to string, well weld, new fence in.

It will be sometime after lunch - Al will have to provide the exact time. I know that folks didn't want it to start too late, because not everyone can stay for the evening meal.

Carla, do you know if the Flemish Giants were pedigree? I recently sold some Flemish Giants on Craiglsist that don't have a pedigree. Sold them for $25 each to some 4-H kids.

My chickens and I are drowning here..... (Not literally)

Why can't we get a nice uniform amount of rain every month of the year instead of all of it in two months?

One thing is for certain about weather in Oklahoma. It is unpredictable. OKC has received about an inch where I live. Of course, as I was going to work on Friday morning, my yard was dry and the main street 1/2 mile to my West had rainwater standing along the curb.

That is about right. I was driving home on Friday and it was raining but not bad, but the square mile section around my house was a down pour. It was the weirdest thing to drive in and out of hard rain everytime i turned a corner.

Hey ya'll...sorry I haven't given an update, but wanted to let you know that the sheriff has all of a sudden decided to give a hoot...especially when the ranger mentioned to the Dept. of Ag AND to the sheriff that I would be going to the media.

I've finally found a lawyer in AR who is willing to help with my side of the case and is going to be getting a temporary OK license so he can work this single case.

He is going to be writing up a formal demand on Monday and I am going to him for him to read over my SECOND statement to make sure it will be perfectly fine.

Other than that....I'm trying to selling an Egyptian Fayoumi pullet and a Buttercup pullet.

Can't make it to POOPS but if anyone's interested in the NE OK area...let me know!

Same here. I am about sick of all this rain. Grandson was suppose to have his 1st soccer game today. I am sure hoping they cancel it, I cant find my umbrella.

I have not even gone out yet to see how many of the chicks made it. They have done well so far until that down pour last night.

I have come up with an idea, take the cochins and line all their pens/tractors up where I plan to have the garden next year. Them things are the super diggers. With in a week they can tear up some ground. I wont need a tiller next year.
