Grace - I will go by Red Earth Feed and get a bag of DE for you.
If anyone else wants me to get them some DE, let me know. I will call Red Earth Feed tomorrow and make sure they have several bags on hand - it will be Thursday before I pick it up. It was about $30 for a 50 lb bag in the Spring.
There was a raccoon sitting on my backyard picnic table next to my outdoor cat this morning at 6:00 a.m. It scooted off when I let the dog out. So Les/nnbreeder was right - I'll bet it was what got into the pigeon coop a while back.
We let the chicks out of their hutch brooder last night and they are now free ranging inside the coop until we get their pup doors and run done. They at first were like whats going on? And wow is this how it feels to expand my wings without hitting another sister?!
Once they realized they were "free" from the brooder hutch they got all excited and flighty...
We still have to get the pop doors and run done for them before we are confident enough to allow them outside. We hope to have all the runs and what nots done before the end of the month for the whole avery... who knows since we have a big weekend coming up with POOPS/BIRTHDAY(Sat) and our Churches Round Up Hoe Down at our Pastors Place here in Elgin(Sun).
Well I just caught the clock and its Homekeeping time so I better get going... You all have a good one.
Let me know who all will be ther on Friday evening and how many will be in the your party. We need to get a head count so we can get an idea on food for the cookout.

Well we got the new coop done yesterday. We moved the older chickens into it. We put the older chicks and keets on the floor of the small coop. Our brooder box fits perfectly between the walls of hte small coop, so we put it about chest height in there. Finally we can raise chicks outside of the house.
Would anyone be interested in my RIR and RIRxBSL chicks, or my pearl keets? I was thinking about bringing them to POOPS. (I get to come.) I also still have the Barred EE pullet and BCM roo, if anyone wants them.
