Hola peeps...

I hate learning about things the hard way.... On the pother hand Mr. Les is my hero. Y'all when he speaks...Listen.

On Saturday I pulled all my hay out as per Les... Took 4 hours of me and hubby hauling, but I got it all... It was holding a lot of moisture under it in the dirt....some spots the hay was 2 foot deep. It was holding in that pittance of rain we got awhile back pretty well though. I told Mikey, I would never get another round bale again. Don't know what I'm gonna put in the nest boxes, maybe shavings? So we got rid of that hazard. My coops still leaks pretty bad when we get a lot of rain, but that's easy enough to clean out. Waiting on some cash to repair the back wall and the roof. In the meantime that will guarantee that every storm will hit us....

My red hen either has Mareks or (Les, ya ready?) Botulism. Last night I checked her really good for mites and when I did, some of her feathers fell out. So this morning, after rereading Les' old post, did the Epsom flush. She was pecking at her oatmeal a little afterwards. I had a bit of standing water and the hay and the coop, so maybe it was either, or, or a combination of all three.... I was wondering if that is what the grey hen had and when I gave her the shot I overloaded her system and she went into paralysis quickly rather than slowly..... So we'll see. Mrs. Red Hen looks pretty alert and yells at me when she sees me...(can't say that I blame her).....

I really don't want to lose this hen.... It is a tough hen..... So I am praying that this will work and she will recover eventually.

Hey I finally have internet at home again!!! YEAH

I miss you guys!! And seeing all the fun stuff that is going to go on just makes it worse!!
I hope it is TERRIFIC weather for you and everyone gets all of the birds they want and (don't) need.

This Wednesday is my birthday and I am feeling a little blue about not getting to come down to POOPs and missing all the fun.
But Friday I will be going to Nowata to take a girl goat to meet a boy goat. Then Saturday is Hearts and Hammers and this years project is our 4h leaders house. It was destryed in the tornado that wiped out Picher. Saturday night Shaun plays football and MIGHT, just Maybe, he will get to carry the ball.

I will be lurking more that I have my computer back!!

I havebeen web browsing about this botulism thing...How can ya tell the difference between Botulism and Marek's...Maybe she has Marek's and I should just cull her? She is in isolation in the garage...I have been hydrating her with electrolytes...Am I just wasting my dang time? I don't want Marek's!!!

I'm game >;} That'd give Shawn a break, 'cause I was gonna make him go so I didn't have to drive the whole way. LOL

I was going to rent an SUV so I could take my birds in the back (and not have to deal with cages hitting my head...). I don't want them to get torn up from the wind, especially if they're gonna be shown.

Wanna ride with us in the SUV? We can all take turns driving...beats the 6+ hours each we were gonna do...

Not to mention they'd be frozen by the time you'd got there. It get's COLD up there in November. Would there be any room for an extra bird on the off chance I come across a deal I can't refuse? (i.e. more white malay

When are you planning on leaving out?

Our friend in Joplin wanted to go as well.

Boy oh boy just took a break to go make dinner. Boy that sewing machine has seen more of a work out today than it has all summer.

Took one of hubbys work shirts(brand new) and adjusted the size a little and made me a Fall POOPS 2009 name tag. Might need a long sleeve shirt for the evenings. I wonder If I can steal some of his other ones also.
