Hi Okies. I can't keep up with you guys at all, but you are making me hungry for a gyro. The Mad Greek is in Baker, CA and is pretty good too. I've been to the Greek House in Norman but the best gyro I've ever had was at the county fair here. The vendor was an old middle easterner from Nebraska. The yogurt sauce is Tzatziki Sauce. My wife makes it great with cucumbers, plain yogurt, garlic, and lemon, I think.

Everybody have a great weekend! BTW, on bands I'm with Barnswallow?, I have too varied tastes to pick just one but I'd have to go with Neil Peart on drums, Geddy Lee on bass (both from Rush), and maybe Stevie Ray on guitar. I don't even like all their stuff, either.

Hey guys hoping you all are having a wonderful Friday, can you believe its been nearly a week since POOPS... wow week went by fast...

Anyhoot having another one of those stressed out farm days when there is so much to work on but so much else to stress about also... All I want are happy healthy and sound livestock... Which is so funny considering I just posted to my website blog Tid bits on Not So Simple Country Living... ha ha ha

I am worried. Got a call to pick up my 5 yo daughter from school. She's sick. Fever, doesn't feel good, not hungry. Great. I have an almost 3 month old at home. Come to find out the people we were around all day Saturday at the roping, have H1N1. I know it is just the flu, but I'm scared. More for the baby than anyone else. My 5 yo is a pretty healthy little girl and so is my baby, but she is so little... I called the clinic in Fairview and talked to a nurse. She acted like it is no big deal and to just deal with each problem as it shows. I knew that. Emma, my 5 yo is coloring and acting better. I gave her Motrin when we got home. Last time I checked, no fever.
So, to those of you who have been through this already, how long does it last?

Barnswallow - Sorry to hear you're having livestock troubles. Aw I miss my cows...

Cleochick - I wouldn't get too worried. My parents both work in hospitals, my mom's head of micro where she works. Its basicly just like the regular flu, but since its new to us everyone wasn't sure and panicked. And supposedly it is hardest on those in their 20's and those over 60. I'm sure your kiddos will be fine, just not something fun to go through. Praying that she gets to feeling better soon!

Thanks. I am a worrier. Even though I know it is just the flu, I still have to worry about it.
BTW, love your truck. We are looking at trading in our truck for a dually so we can get a larger living quarters horse trailer. Ours is too tight for our family now. Gotta get a truck before I can get the trailer.

Cleochick - Thanks! We think we might have it sold, we'll find out in a couple hours. I'm pretty sad about it, I loved havin the cows so much. I want them again someday, sellin the truck feels like I'm getting even further from it.

I thought my husband was going to sell ours, but he changed his mind. We have a small herd of nice angus cows and we have 4 longhorn/corriente cows. I actually like the longhorns better. Their babies are always different colors. Unfortunately, roping stock isn't worth much, so we keep the babies and rope them until they are too big and then sell them. We may keep one back to feed out. I prefer my horses to the cows. We are down to 12 head and would like to be down to 8, but I doubt we'll get that done. I really enjoy my chickens though. I can go out and watch them for hours. Now I have 12 dozen eggs in the incubator. What was I thinkin'???
