Ok, another day, another death, another back and forth call to State guy.

He said feel free you let you all know his name and share his phone number.
His name is Dee Hilliard
918-316-7047

If you know someone that bought turkeys or fowl from that area and you had a high rate of lose or any lose feel free to call him. We do not want what ever it is getting spread all over the State. If you know someone from that area or auction that having problem let him know the persons name.
Let show the State we are looking out for our birds.

I wish I asked you guys before I did, who to call. Someone at Poop told me to call the Extension office and they put me in touch with Mr Hillard. Just wish I done it sooner. I just thought it was because I was new at it but I couldn't understand the different in the two pens. Same type pens, same care, same food but different hitchers

Let talk about how they were when they got sick. It might help someone else not have the heart breaking time of see their future being wreck
.
They would be eating fine one day. But not as much as the day before. Next day they off in the corner or still in the house. Their heads are hung down and they all feathered up. Will not move. I put them in a sick pen. They drunk water but won't eat. No swelling on most of them, one or two had some swelling under the eye. Next morning they are dead. Not under weight, no wounds, nothing. No bleed in poop. Nothing odd

I give them Corid like my vet said and two different types of antibiotics . I give the whole bunch AC with Mother, I worm monthly, I used Hot Red Pepper and garlic nothing worked. If one got sick the group got treated. I spent hours and hours reading on turkeys.

I moved them to fresh ground, burn their house and built a new one, twice. I really tried everything but I didn't ask the State for help and I should have, high dollar lesson. And one I should have known to do. I feel like I need a kick me sign.

Mr Hilliard had me give them Tylan 50, at a rate of 1 CC one day and LA200 1/2 cc the next day. They received the shot straight in the breast. The chicken that dead last night wasn't treated but the six turkeys that are live will get another round of treatment. The rooster run with them. He was one I couldn't catch last week.

If you have some more question I am open to answer him and I am worried but Scott, too he could have got the sickness from someone else because he buys and trades birds a lot. Is could be a bad circle of events.

I am taking the time to let you know about this because what ever it is needs stop and stopped now.
I am sorry this is long and feel free to skip over it but I think it important. Or feel free to say shut up Lightning enough is enough.

Oh, by the move the ones in the other pen are growing like weeds and have had no medicine except AC with Mother, garlic, red pepper and wormer ( natural wormer) and there only been one dead suddenly. But he was eating a two of hours and running around before the dead and he was fat, very fat.

Here my home number if you have more question for me

No, I'm not showing the Cochins at Idabel. I've had them on the ground. However, right at this moment they are in full molt which means I will just get them up soon. The girls will probably try Shawnee with them.

The Modern pullet is very young (12 ounces) so hopefully she will turn out nice. I do really like the roo though. I'm a little partial on them too.

The Fawn Silver Duckwings are the ones that aren't dubbed. I haven't posted a picture yet. They are younger ones to so I'm waiting to see how they look.

We're getting to ya, huh? So are you out of the city limits, or in a ag zone?

I'm very near downtown. I have the legal amount of hens, plus some spares...so I'm already over the limit (don't tell on me!), so that's why I whine so much about not being able to get more birds. That and I like to whine...it's one of the few things I'm good at!

Thanks for sharing the information Lightning. If I understand correctly, it not only affected your turkeys but one of your chickens. I am sure we will all pay attention to our birds.

It's raining where is everyone at??

just had bubble pizza for dinner!

Sherri, if the Cochins are molting now, that should make them nice-and-ready for Shawnee!
Were your Fawn Silver Duckwings just a pair, too?
Something I forgot to put in the PM is that cockerels can be shown without being dubbed, or so I've heard!
