Teach, I'm sorry to hear about your Egyptian roo. Maybe the stress of a new home in the panhandle of Okiehoma was just too much for him. Luckily you have backup.

I think maybe it was awful stressful for some of the birds at POOPS this time. Too many scary noises coming from the clubhouse late in the evening .... lots of screams & laughter probably scared the poor birds.

We lost the 2 ameraucana chicks that we bought from Engiekisses

I put them together with the trio of EEs that were the same age that we purchases at the POOPS auction. The auction trio seem fine. I guess the stress & the awful weather lately & being put in a rabbit hutch was too much for them. If I can remember correctly, they were still being kept inside? Anyway, I feel bad that they are gone. I had grand plans for them

Hey Carla : The one time I decide to go to Blanchard and you & the egg man were awol, I missed not sitting next to you guy's at an auction. I know you have been working some long hours, and stay very busy. Stop in and say hey every now and then.

The server cabinets? You bet. Al was just in here yesterday giving me great pointers on how to go about converting one into a bator/hatcher. I figure with his advice, a bunch of money, and a lot of patience, I may actually be able to hatch a few eggs come March.

I still need to get around to posting some pictures of it. Al got me all excited about it again!

Well, break's over! Back to work!

C'ya.

Thanks Al, I hope to convince Gerald to go to another auction. He has turned against them & says he doesn't care to go anymore. I guess because of our low selling prices or the manner in which the auctions are run.

I always have fun just visiting with you and other Okies there, regardless of if I buy or sell. Auctions are a great place to visit

Yes, work has been too busy lately. Luckily, I work in an office in the aircraft hangar. But, I really feel sorry for the mechanics where I work .... 10-12 hour days, 7 days a week now. It's definitely not a good work environment, and could quite possibly cause more defects and accidents. Not a good thing when working on such expensive/important aircraft.

Well, I must get outside & start feeding before leaving for work. Hopefully I can get a chance to chat while at work tonight.

Oh Monty....we were just trying to get an encore!!!!

Hi Donna. How are you?
i was talking to our youth pastor the other night. He is friends with your SIL. He said that he has even met you once at a restaurant but that you probably wouldn't remember. His name is Brent Hazlerigg but his friends all call him Rigg.

Oh! No on the encore. No more dresses and tubesocks for me.

Sooner - that is one awesome cage - how did you do that? I really really like that!

Here's the link to it:

(someone check to make sure it works)

I made mine smaller than the one in the fact sheet but it is still bigger than I wanted.

The link works fine. And that is a nice job. I can see me making some like it. Thanks for the info.

Al,
We actually live in town (be it a rural small town) and in the last 8 days I have caught 5 opossums and 1 skunk. I am still trying for the coon that did all the damage but it doesn't hurt to lower the predator population.

So here is Maria's duck. Can anyone tell if it's a boy or a girl? What breed?

It's not a giant duck... those are bantam chickens

It is definately a female. If you got it at Atwoods, it is probably a Rouen. I have a male and female. You can see pics on my BYC Webpage. I've got one baby right now that is crested.

TJ's Na-Na :

I told Pa-Pa about the growing list of us that are planning to
go to Shawnee. Were this in the summer-time, there is a
super clear area with trees out in the campsite area. But.........

I didn't remember it, but he says there is a small arena set-up
near the consession stand, between the chicken show area and
the pigeon area that has bleachers on both sides of it. So,
would be a good place for us to "perch" and visit. Saturday
would be the day to be there. Seems like we were cooped out
and headed home by 2:00 on Sunday.

Al - that is scarry ! I believe I would be working that trap like
a revolving door, ....sounds like you already are. I'd set it even if
I didn't see any tracks. So, are you making us all hats like
CitiClucks? No, no opposum.......just the coons !!!!!!

Teach - Bill is still laughing about your arriving home after your
last trip to Shawnee........LOL

And, the 1-roo to 8-hens......... Pa-Pa and TJ say 2-roos ain't
havin' that kind of luck around here........LOL

Have a good one !
