Its a complicated puzzle, but you guys are getting the pieces...

The birds don't actually have a perch. I guess its more of just a coop, a place out of the wind. But I keep finding them outside of it on the cold grass! I'm hoping that eventually they will figure it out if I keep putting them in there.

well I called and he was not the nicest person he would not give any prices on anything and seems to want to sell it all together if he can but will split if he ends up having to. When I asked about prices he said without me saying $$ he is not going to give the stuff away its worth $$ ok so how much............ and he would not give my a $.

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the site and to the idea of keeping chickens.

Hey Kryssty...
I'm new to all this too and just in the planning stages at this point. And also doing a lot of reading. I was laid off work last January and just called it retirement.

I'm in B.A. right now, but if I ever get this house ready to sell (and sold) I'll be moving to a place I bought in Locust Grove.

My original plan was to start with pullets, but after a lot of reading I've changed my mind. I'd hoped to get everything this spring, now it'll probably be next spring. But, I've decided to order day old chicks and raise them to know me.

At this point, I think I want Wyandottes. But plenty of time to decide.

There's a lot of great information on this site. Have fun reading.

Pelican - You should go to the show! Its great to see all the different breeds. And since you've never been to one, you'll probably see lots of breeds you've never heard of!

Checked my eggs just now. My own Brahma and Orp eggs are developing well, but the others seem to have thinned out. I might have one Hamburg, but if it is still developing its way behind the others. I have two Millies that are developing fantastically! One is so developed that I can no longer see into the egg. I'm so excited!

I will be thrilled to get any chicks I can out of this hatch, after all the fiascos the poor eggs have been through. *ha*

Hey Okie and everyone else,
It looks like my plans have changed and I will be able to go to the auction in Harrah on Saturday. So Okie, if you or anyone else is going we should meet and sit together.
I don't know how this one will be set up. Some auctions I have been to don't have seating. You just walk around to
each thing being sold. I like the way they did the Newalla auction, where everyone sat down and they brought the stuff out to you. I can'y wait now. Oh the excitement of it all !

Hi Cammie, I am not sure with this being the first one and all. It will just depend on how many goats and how much misc. stuff they have to sell. Oh yes and FYI If it is anthing like the other poultry auctions I have been to there will be hatching eggs for sell.

My eggs are supposed to hatch a week from today, Valentine's Day! Looks like I'm just getting two Mille Fleurs.

But those are what I have really wanted, so it will be ok.
