I am not sure what time I will go, probably try to get there a little before five. I have no interest in the goats but it will give me time to scope out the poultry and any misc. chicken stuff like cages, bators, waterers, feeders, egg cartons and the like.

HEllO, I think it is on the south end of Harrah just east of main street. (between 10th and 23rd.) If you follow NE 23rd east it curves south when you get into Harrah and becomes Harrah road. I'll double check to see for sure where the auction iss located.

I have an Okie friend who is wanting to sell:

3 Geese ( I don't what kind),
3 Baby goats (triplets)
Some Lionhead rabbits,
a one year old registered German Shepherd female,
and some German Shepherd pups. ( from another female)
She has some turkeys too but I am holding out the info on them because I might buy those.

OKie and Countyroad,
One thing I have found that is very useful and helpful at an auction is to have a notepad and pen. I write down lots of information. So come prepared. There may be a test.
ps. If anyone wants to meet for pregame coffee or cokes I am buying!

All the ones I've been too usually have some type of poultry, sorta as a preshow...out in front...I used to go to alot...(Dad's a Dairy Farmer)...Washington County, Madison county, Sebastion County, Scott county...sometimes they will announce over the P.A. to see a certain person and what they are selling...(you have to be early, & this is not every time.) and one that ALWAYS has poultry and a flea market is County Line Auction... it's over between Paris and Booneville...on Wednesday...go early.
Hope that helps. That is just my experience.

Edited to add: Not sure where you live...Scott County is at Waldron...just across the railroad tracks...take 71B and it will take you right to it...that's on Tuesdays...
Sebastion County...it's right on the river...I really can't remember the days that well...seemed like it was on Thursday...

There's also a used car auction on Friday nights at Lincoln...they sell everything before they run the cars thru (buy cars at your own risk)(Once again you need to be early)...it's right there on the road. Can't count the times dad would come home with a box of 'something' chirping!

Chickens at an auto auction?

I've only been to auctions that were strictly catte, until the poultry auction in Cement.

I think Harrah's a little over an hour from me, so I'm not planning on leaving til maybe around 5. Okie, do you have something to carry the roo in?

Grace, don't worry about the eggs. I'm thrilled that any of them are developing! I wasn't sure how'd they do being mailed in the freeze.

Considering I'm the only non-blonde in the family that phrase is not used very much here (at lest out loud:lol:)

Amanda is doing great, we went to Edmopnd to vist our oldest daughter for christmas came back & she lost about 8 of her birds + other animals because of poor care & hard weather. She is now getting ready to go to the show in Fresno, she has 20 birds & call entered.

We still want to move & still looking at the OKC area but with the housing market down we don't expect to move anytime soon. How have you been with your birds I read that you had to sell some. I guess your parents are stronger than I am with Amanda

It all depends on the auctions some do but most don't.
Most poultry auctions are c0mbined with goats and misc. stuff. I have been to several livestock auctions around the state and very few sell chickens when they are selling cattle and horses.
