Idon't know Q I think those shamos and maylays they were showing today were the real "he man"birds. All others are kinda sissy next them!lol

Ronnie sounds like you made quiet a day of it!Anxious to see pics of those silvers.

Al I found some real nice WR's this week back in Tn. They were only five months old, very tall nice size bodys but still had a lot plumping out to do. They were only$8 ea. If I get some I'll send some pics so you can judge them for me. I worry about their feed comsumption. Will they break the bank?

Anyone going to Afton this sat?I get to go!!!!! We are in Siloam Springs,Ark.tonite, family here. Its just across the line on hwy412. Daughter lives in Kansas. Was hoping she would get to go back and spend a month with us but she has the flu! May not even get to see her. I can't afford to get that crud with the heart thing comming up in two weeks.
City Sounds like Sooner and I might get to meet up in your nedck of the woods, does Attwood have any chicks now?

Hola Peeps

Feel like I am coming down with something...I figure between ER and the nursing home I have been exposed to every microbe known to man...plus a few they don't know about yet. Have a headache and working on a sore throat...Hoping it's just the defoliant for the cotton (*hack hack*).

Faeries, you sound like my kinda gal... I love a girl who can rack a shotgun and tell it like it is.... You go girl!!

I have to say that Grace's black cochin is by far the awesomes bird I have ever seen. I boosted the pic Grace to show him to my mom...(*Henny invents cheesy excuse to have awesome roo picture*)hope ya don't mind. Now I can just stare at him whenever I want...That is NOT no foo-foo bird!!

Dr. Les, you are still my hero...I am going to upload my pictures of peppy, happy hens...and some with feathers coming in that have not had feathers in a year.... They ate 40 lbs of feed in three days...wow...Mike is pi$$ed about the feed bill...I do not care one whit!! Thanks for all your help with the great roundworm outbreak of 2009....

Al... can ya see yet?

When breeding the best teacher is experiance. You can pretty much predict the outcome of a mating but only if you know the history of the birds from way back.

I have mated single colored birds expecting to get that color, more often then not I did but sometimes you get little suprises called "sports." A sport is a bird that in no way shape or form looks like it could have come from the parents.

Sports are what makes breeding so fun!

Hum... now I forget where you live, but we must live pretty close! I am only a few miles from the Choctaw's big casino area.

I live outside of a small town of 400 people called Alderson. It is about 5 miles southeast of McAlester.

I have a close friend who used to work at the one in McAlester. She lives in Indianola. I'm trying to get her into chickens!

Stimpy is the best WR expert we have here, he is a better judge. But they do tend to like to belly up to the dinner table, so yeah some will like the feed sack more than others, but then mine don't free range at all.

I really think a big ole Rhode Island Red Rooster is a man's man bird.

I had one as my avatar for a long time. I noticed several Okies changing theirs up, so I thought I would put a new one in. My DW with 2 of our 5 granddaughters.

Henny, sure have missed you around here!!

I hope you aren't getting sick but if you do, take care of yourself! Gald your chickens are all on the mend, tell Mike they are just making up for lost time! LOL.

OK...recent hen pics

Mrs. Greenfeathers (*No, I do not name all my hens...AL*)

Thanks Les.. the vitamins and cat food did the trick I think...along with the worm executions

My Big RIR on her nest. She was kind enough to allow flash photography.

The happy, healthier gang. As a true pessimist I feel it necessary to frame that last statement with, "Well I've jinxed them now".
