Well I hope everyone is doing ok in this nasty weather. I have to get back out and check on the chcikens. I made sure they had plenty of food last night so as to get a good start today during this cold spell.
It is good to hear the reports from everyone about Jones. Sorry I missed it.

Luvs2, Why more roos? I thought you were gonna cut back!

My accountant has informed me that my feed bill is exceeding the budget allotment. I thought the easy solution would be to just fire my accountant but since I am married to her I guess that won't work.
So I may be selling a few birds to get things back in line. I do have one bargaining chip to play with in that neither of her dogs has laid a single egg since we got them.
Seriously though I do need to sell some Gold Campine and Cuckoo Marans Cockerals plus a few misc. if anyone is interested. I think the Gold Campines are the prettiest chickens I have ever owned but I always seem to end up with too many roos and not enough pullets.
Thanks NNbreeder for the links, I will check those out.
Everyone have a blessed day.

Hey Everybody, Just stopping in to say hi. I've spent the last few months fighting off a very persistent bobcat. I finally got enough wire and enough electricity and everyone is safe. The eggs that I've hatched and the chicks that I got from Carla, have grown into beautiful hens and roosters. I've even been able to share with friends and they've started their own little egg laying flock. I'm excited about the show in Shawnee and hope to see ya'll there.

Gerald and I should be there. I haven't decided if we'll bring anything though. I need to sell some of our chicks, but even though they say "cheap, cheap" doesn't mean I want to sell them for that.

I took some last week and my month old purebred chicks only sold for $1 each. I put more chick starter into them than what they sold for.

We're going to trade out a turkey hen with Rebecca before the auction, so we'll at least stay to see what's selling. We might even bring some chicks for the auction. My biggest fear is that Gerald will fill up the truck with junk again. He managed to empty the truck out and I have no idea where he found the space to hide it all.

Henny I give mother nature the permission to take any of today's weather and move it your way. I was out in the COLD rain this AM doing chores. I was worried both boys were going to end up in bed with us last night because they were scared of the storm obviously they were more tired then that and only made it as far as the Living Room.

We're back from the Lexington auction already. The turnout was low and not much for sale

It is rare that we not buy at an auction. Oh, I take that back, Gerald bought each of us a bowl of beans & cornbread. Mmmmm Mmmmmm Good!!!!!'

We enjoyed meeting Stimpy and his wife Lou, and visiting with Rebecca & Phil and Tina. At least they all bought something tonight. We had a great time even though the auction was somewhat disapointing.

And to all our wonderful veterans, Happy Veteran's Day Eve! I'm so happy you served our country and kept us safe! I'm honored to know and have made friends with the wonderful BYC Okies that are veterans!

Wish you could've got our storm, so we could've had it a little later. I woke around maybe 5:30, a little freaked out by all the noise, and of course hubby is just snoring away.

That is wonderful that he is getting to come home! Tell him we all love him and thank him.

Oh, I just have to share this with everyone. Now I want everyone to know, I believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I have no problem with that. Its when they try to force it upon you, in an inappropriate setting, that I have a problem with. So here's what happened to me tonight...

One of my professors is real big on pushing his ideas on everyone. So tonight he ended the class with this: "I want to talk to all of you about a holiday that's coming up. For some reason we've centered the meal around this animal (wrote on board) TURKEY. Who's given us permission to eat the Turkey? Did we ask it? Does it make it right to kill it just because we are mightier than it is?" It went on for a while, someone brought up the Bible and he got loud... I laughed, shook my head and said "I raise poultry and cattle, and enjoy eating both." Then stood up and said "I have to go feed my cows." And left the class laughing.

This guy drives me nuts!

He does this often, but this is the first time that he's become aggressive and sorta violent. What irks me the most is that he's wasting my time, money, and education. Now I'm just worried that he will try to fail me.

Morning Okies! I haven't posted much on this thread....although since I am an Okie I should LOL!

Wanted to mention a post on Craigslist (Tulsa) that someone in the Terlton area seems to be clearing their flock.....some of the prices seemed a bit extreme.....but someone out there might want what they are listing.

We only got the rain and wind too. And sadly a leaky roof! DH says it will be an "easy" fix. Which usually means "it will cost money"

Hopefully this time he is right

Well 5:25am.....time to start getting kids up!

Thanks to all our Veterans! DH had two tours in Nam and today is also our 29th wedding anniversary!

I don't understand the big deal about being a Veteran, all the stuff going on today is ludicrous..
I only did what my country ask me to do..nothing more and nothing less, and now today I can't go to the bank or post office..
I don't wear a patch on my sleeve or a hat that says hey look at me I'm a Vet. I don't ask for praise or want anything..I'm just another guy

Please don't jump to condem me for this as I earned my right to say what I think on this matter and now I will shut up..
