I have a number of chicken breeds, but my main project is Blue Australorps. I'll be breeding the second generation this fall/spring. I have BLRW's and a Heinz mixture that makes good layers. Lovely birds with a dose of BLRW in them too. Some lay blue eggs because of the EE in them. I think some of the crosses are just gorgeous.

What does BLRW stand for? Blue Laced ????
I understand the reference to a Heinz mixture - that is what I generally hatch

Sorry, BLRW stands for Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and the Heinz 57 just means a mixture of the layer breeds that I have free ranging here.

They are in Oklahoma City, but they are the folks who run the Fletcher Auction, so they can probably bring them down when they do their next auction on November 7th. I'm wondering if they got these birds at their auction...
