Good morning Okies.

Sometimes, the Rhode Island is white...

Yes, and they look like this. (After a long hot summer and on a nice windy day!)

When they are trying to "pose' for the camera...

It was hard to get pics of the girls, they just wanted attention and the camera doesn't like to focus that close.

They may even be my wife's (and my) favorite breed of what we have? And we have several breeds!

Don't forget your friends on BYC who don't build cages and need them, so would be willing to buy cages you build. Let me know when you are ready to start taking custom made orders.

Didn't Teach stock you up on cages??? I was hoping to get to see a picture of them.....I have one cage to build for myself once that is over I will need to do something. The last one was alittle to big for me.

Teach supplied me with 5 six foot long cages, only 4 of which made it back to my house because someone (that would be me) was too tired to focus on how to best tie off the last cage and it made an unscheduled departure from the trailer, somewhere between Blanchard and my house.

I can always use more cages. I prefer big cages for broody hens with their chicks, and with the right kind of wire on the bottom I can always use more for grow out cages for rabbits.

Morning everyone. I got up and got the kids to school, then laid back down and just woke up. I was up half the night for some reason.

Hey Buster,
I think my EE babies are weak. I lose one about every five days. They just drop for no reason. I traded a lady, EE eggs for Rouen eggs. I really want these birds. It has to be the blue babies that die too. They are my favorite.

I may be interested in your EE or Americauna birds. PM with the details if you really want to get rid of them. i have a young Americauna cockeral from POOPS that is beautiful. I need some ladies to go with him. I'm planning on setting up breeding pens when I get some more hens. Right now the only mature chickens I have are one breed so they just free-range whenever they want. I also have an incubator full of guineas.

City,
We also have bats in just about every room, but we also have something that packs a bigger punch when needed.

Engie,
I tried to find you yesterday, but it seemed we were never online at the same time. Happy late-Birthday.

These are the 8 gal.? buckets with a screw on lid that has a 'well' in it big enough for oyster shell or grit. The pan is a cheapy from Wally World and they work great. The only thing lacking is to invert a funnel or equiv. in the bottom to push the feed to the sides better, but that is really only and issue when it is almost empty.

Here are some of the spring chicks first eggs. I've started getting Cuckoo Marans and Welsummers since then.

Mine are the 5 gallon type and I use a 4" deep Galvanized feed pan. I use a cheap plastic funnel glued to the inside bottom of the bucket to push my feed out, works great when I put another funnel on the lid to keep the birds from roosting on the lids.

I haven't culled any of mine yet, but I do have one that definitely has to go. A beautifully marked golden duckwing stag that had the misfortune of inheriting slate legs.

I have tortured myself by letting him grow out.

Don't cull him. He can relocate to my place.
