My husband has decided he doesn't want her anymore, because she is not lovey dovey like our sun conure was. She is more typical quaker. She talks and laughs, but she is moody.

How much are you wanting for her

Hey Whirls!

Your little baseball bat is safe and sound leaning against my frig in the kitchen. I am kind of glad to have it. People come over and ask me if I play a lot of softball or something, because I have a baseball bat in almost every room! They were my only home defense weapon for a while, and I still have them leaning behind doors everywhere. Now that I actually type that, it makes me seem kind of weird to even myself...nah!

Hey City....I don't think it is strange at all. Before my DH and I got married I was single with 2 little girls to raise. I lived at a dead end street with no one across the street. I got broken into and from then on I kept a baseball bat behind the front door, one under my bed, a big butcher knife and a solid zink bat between the mattress and box springs.

NO ONE was going to hurt my baby girls if I could help it. LOL

A little while after my DH and I got married he one day asked if he could get rid of my weapons. We laughed so much over that.

I had completely forgotten about the weapons. DH said he didn't want me having a nightmare and think he was the "bad" guy. Lol He felt confident he could take care of me.

I don't have bats in every room there just in my head

and I replaced the bats with something that goes bang

Al...that is so wonderful to hear. Know that my prayers are with you and your DW. My husband and I have been through the cancer ordeal and it is awful. God bless you both. Keep us posted on the results.

These are the 8 gal.? buckets with a screw on lid that has a 'well' in it big enough for oyster shell or grit. The pan is a cheapy from Wally World and they work great. The only thing lacking is to invert a funnel or equiv. in the bottom to push the feed to the sides better, but that is really only and issue when it is almost empty.

Here are some of the spring chicks first eggs. I've started getting Cuckoo Marans and Welsummers since then.

Al...are the feeders you are talking about the ones that you use a 5 gal. bucket and place a pan underneath? I saw one of these at the Afton auction and went back to buy it for a pattern and someone had already bought it. Do you possibly have the instructions on how to build one? I have a pretty good idea but thought if you had instructions it would be a whole lot quicker to build. We need some of these.

If the feed that is in the tray gets wet does it hurt the rest of it?

Thanks Al

I still have at least 2 hours before I'd get there though

Lucky for you! There might still be some daylight left when you get off work.

After I get off work, I must go by the house and pick up my daughter's TKD uniform & gear, then go pick her up from school and take her to the dojo for belt testing. I won't be home until after the birds have gone to roost. Tomorrow will be a rinse and repeat, replace the belt testing with regular TKD class (unless they cancel it due to the belt testing tonight).

Carah...I feel for you. I've had problems with depression ....it runs in our family even though we are a family that loves to have a good time. My doctor told me when I'm having trouble whatever you do don't hole up in the house. Do anything to get out of the house....go for a walk, go talk to your chickens, go do something for someone else, visit someone you haven't seen for awhile.

Do you have any craft you like to do? I've gotten started doing designs on grandkids clothes with the crystals and sequins. It really is fun.

I'll keep you in my prayers.

Well, I get home, go out and feed the birds, get the kiddo and her soccer gear and head out to the field for her practice. While she practices, I'll be walking around the field in giant circles with my hand weights, trying to get my heart rate up to attempt to kickstart some weight loss. Yeah I don't weigh much over what I'm supposed to weigh max, but that extra 25 lbs makes a difference in whether or not I can breathe easily and move around well.

When we get home, it'll be mostly dark. Hopefully J will have finished putting up the wire for the coop, so I can coop the trio in their new coop tonight.
