Ok Carla gets the eggs! Good to hear gearld is home and not contagious. Happy Anniversary you two. Hope you have lots more. Don't know about the llama but goats sure sound good. Love those little pygmys and nigerian dwarfs.

I vote beans in the chilli. We stock up on Williams chili mix every trip back to Okla. Can't get it here. Its our favorite. Mixing in some sausage with the hamburger is good also. Even better is deer and sausage! My wifes family likes it with spaggetti,I prefer corn chips.

Has Gerald used his insurance before?

Government Insurance does some really cool things with medical bills. I've seen a $12K hospital visit slashed to $500 out of pocket expense. I think you will be greatly surprised when you get the bills.

Oh, Happy Anniversary!

Thanks, we've been married one year today!

Cool! Yeah, Gerald has never really used the insurance except for occasional dr's visits. He's never been very sick, no surgeries or anything to speak of. Now he marries me & gets sicker than he's ever been before

Wow! I didn't know it was your first anniversary! (That gives me some hope.)

TriCare will cap the charges and get rid of some of them all together. They have much more control than a normal insurance company. The medical companies are not allowed to come back to you to recoop the disallowed items either. It's amazing to see what happens to the bill.

I prefer to think that he "waited" until he had a loving wife to take care of him before getting sick.

The baby llama that we brought to the Fall POOPS follows me all other our place. When I walk outside and call for her, she immediately runs to me and stays around the entire time I'm outside. Corey refers to her as "sis" now so she is definitely part of the family.

Of course, I'm sure a bottle fed goat would do the same thing.

A couple would make a great present! (Goat or Llama)

Carla - I can't believe its already been a year! All things considered, what a great anniversary gift to have Gerald home.

Sounds like he's doing better. What a scary experience! And with all this H1N1 goin around, he would have to try to one-up everyone.

guess the 12 week old chicks think they are cold in the chicken shed. At least 9 of them are huddled beneath the buff orphington hen that hatched some of them - she is spread out like an umbrella over them. I think her wings would get tired. I wish I had taken a camera out with me - all the chicks are different colors which made for a more interesting scene.

I have a super easy recipe that my mom taught me. You take a can or two of chili beans (or red kidney) and a can of pinto beans, a big can of diced tomatoes (can always be fresh tomatoes if you any leftover from garden I just picked the last of mine tonight), about a 1/3 of a jar of paste picante (or any other salsa depending on how spicy you want it what level of spice or salsa you use), fried hamburger meat (I always fry it with onion and garlic just personal preference) and let it cook in the crock pot until ready. If your chili is not spicy enough you can add some additional chili spice. Enjoy!

Sherri, thanks for all the info

Yep, we're newlyweds still, lol. It took a few years before I agreed to go out with him, and then it took a few years before he asked me to marry him.

Now I need to decide if it's going to be goats or llamas. I mentioned to him that all our BYC buddies say it's ok for me to get him llamas or goats for his anniversary present and he just laughed. I'm slowly wearing him down for some
