There is actually a commercial plucker on the market like that but the small ones are about $1500 and you can almost double that for the scalder and rest of the goodies.

It looks to me like it would damage the meat but it looks like it doesn't even tear the skin. The pluckers that just use the drum that you hold the bird against doesn't and this actually looks more gentle then those.

Scratch that, up to 7 grand for the commercial one with all the goodies.

Oh no I mean is it the week before finals for you after you return from Turkey holiday? We call that dead week (or wish you were dead bcs you have to study), but we still have to go to school. It just means that you have to lock down and study for all of those exams and such. Yeah we are only out for the holidays, although this last week my professor canceled our class on Thursday due to the game and ESPN was there or something, so there was going to be no parking on campus for the professors and he would have had to park somewhere else. So he stayed home and watched football I am sure, hehehe.

I've reserved a small suite at the Holiday Inn Express for Friday and Saturday nights, December 11 and 12 for the Shawnee show and sale. I'd love to have one or two women to share the suite and expense. It has two Queen beds and a hideabed in another small room. If you're interested, please PM me. It is at the AARP rate, so is quite reasonable--the same as a regular room with two Queen beds.

Here is our newest addition to the farmstead...

Mia (the name they gave it) is a people goose, she prefers human contact over other goose encounters... she followed my kids around the yard all day, and I swear she was crying when son went in the house for a few min leaving her outside the back screen door. She does have some teeth on her as she tried to nip at hubby and I a few times today when we were "in her way" but for the most part she is very very socialable.

Evening All,

I needed to build a new brood pen today for a trio of my American Game Bantams. While building it I took some pictures and I've used those to create a "How-To" page here on BYC to share with everyone. If you're interested you can find the page at the following link,

How To Build A Brood Pen

Or you can click on either link in my signature line below and find a link to the brood pen page at the top of that linked page.... ummm, I confused even me... anyway, hope you like it!

If anyone has any extra Pekin ducks they need to get rid of, now is the time. It is a seller market. I have had several calls looking for them. Also, Saturday night at Blanchard will be a few Showgirls. There will be three White roosters and 1 tan pullet for sure. Anyone wanting in the rabbit business will be several nice white new zealand does from 1 to 2 yrs old. Also some the hanging cages.
Hope to see everyone Saturday. We should have fun.

You can either raise it slowly which I think is best or...move to a spot where you can slowly cool it or something. I don't know I ain't no good at doing that part right...if they are still piling then you probably moved to fast... Oh Les Help please..
