Morning Sooner. Hows that Madison girl doing. She really needs some new chickens! Come on mom its almost Christmas! LOl. Sounds like you and everyone else is having to put in lots of hours this holiday season. Maybe it will slow down soon and you all can get back to enjoying your clucks.
Heavy frost here this morning.Looks like a snow. One good thing about the cold,it finally does the final culling for you. If they survive the cold they are usually hardy enough to make it thru the winter.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning Okies... already at work

My eyes didn't want to open this morning... luckily I got here right on time! Was a little iffy there for a few minutes with the traffic already building on the highway... usually I miss all that. What a difference leaving 8 minutes later than I normally do makes...

There should only be less than a week left on the foo foo eggs

Almost bought some RIR eggs yesterday but then the budget reared its head.

So I've apparently missed the posts about who is bringing what for sale to Shawnee... I know one person is bringing a few different kinds including silkies, but is everybody else just going to look?

I just really want to know... I'm thinking about buying some eggs and trying this incubator thing one more time... but I'm really kind of set on the breeds that I want to raise. I'd rather spend my money with people here, but if I don't know they're selling them, I can't buy them!

Well, at the end of my Thanksgiving hatch, I have 10 baby chicks out of 23 eggs that went into the bator. But, when I broke open the remaining 11 (because I HAD to) there were 6 that made it to lockdown!!! including one of the two silkies I had.

What did I do???

I think it may be possible to obtain eggs at Shawnee not sure, if you are looking for a certain breed of hatching eggs just ask around I am sure you can find some nice ones.

Can you describe what they looked like, including the membrane?

I don't know very much (my knowledge probably wouldn't fill a thimble) but the people on here that do a lot of hatching might know if you provide a good description.

What was the problem with those 11 eggs you had to open ??.

Gitfiddle?? What's a gitfiddle??

Hope you reminded her how lucky she is. When we were kids we had to carry everything to school in 3 feet of snow and a 30 mile per hour head wind, uphill, both ways.
