Um, my last hatch was actualy about 3 batches spread of about 5 days. I had 7 blue/splash orps to go with the 3 bbs orps that where about 2 weeks older. I had 2 turkens and probly 4 more bbs orps hatch out and just went into the brooder. The silkies are around 25 I think. Wife is already throwing a fit but after looking at these two turkens (blue and black) im thinking I need to turn the bator back on and hound someone for some eggs.

Reading about so many BYC folks setting hatches for Christmas pushed me over the edge, so I bought some Cream Brabanter eggs from Carla. I set the hatch last week along with a dozen Salmon Faverolles. I candled today, and I was please do see so many developing.

It looks like 15 Brabanters and 8 Faverolles are one their way to a white Christmas. I'm going to have to quit teaching and raise chickens full time if I can't kick this hatching addiction. My second incubator came on, almost by itself, and the next thing I knew I'd arranged to have some more Barnevelder, Light Brahama, and Speckled Sussex eggs shipped. DH comes back from a two-week business trip tonight, so I'm going to tell him the incubators are helping to heat the front office. He knows about the eggs, but I don't think he really "knows" about the eggs. Talking with my DH about chickens is like dancing about algebra. Is it really that hard? I need an Amen from someone out there. I NEED my chickens. Without my chickens, I don't have chickens.

What amazes me is that Teach is bringing wood from the panhandle. It was probably grown and cut in Cleveland County and shipped to the panhandle in the first place

Sorry no rest home for me... I guess I better tell that to my kids on a biblical commandement... Thou Shall not place thy mother or thy father in rest homes... no matter how unfair it was growing up...

Jeannie

Definitely not! That sounds like the 11th commandment for sure. I just told my daughter and she giggled and said with a big smile "Well, mommy I think you and daddy need to have another child so that they can help me, because there is two you (you and daddy). I will for sure need some help." I laughed so hard. She is just so cute sometimes.

I laughed so hard when I read these. When my daughter was younger and I be giving her a hard time she would tell me "Shaddy Pines Old Lady, Shaddy Pines". Of course when I reminded her that she was only 16 years younger then me, she stopped teasing me. Yes I had her at a young age but she has turned out to be a wonderful young lady, with a wicked sense of humor but sweet and loving as well.
Our compremise was I go into the nursing home of my choice and she pays for it from her inheritance. I think that is totally fair. Yes?
