actually the one that didnt try to burn my house down has been running since yesterday and I checked it every four hours today until I got home and checked it every hour while home and it is sitting at 99.4 degrees with 63% humidity... So I am thinking that it is gonna work but I only got 2 turners

You better get to building some pens! You know you won't stop with just one hatch! I am thinking of doing something like a hoop house type setting. Bill has his in that type of a set up & it just might be the way to go for me.

Hey All,

How much feed should 30 RIR laying hens go through in a week?

Hmmm, maybe that's the wrong question, or the wrong way to ask it, how about...

If you have 30 RIR laying hens how many days should a 50 pound bag of feed last?

Any takers? I've noticed an increase in how much they are eating since the cold snap set in, that's for sure!

Yep it is the exact same size as a grain of Wheat.

Even though it seems that there has been a lot of recalls of food in the past few years the supply produced in this country is still the safest in the world. Only one recall was traced back to a producer and that was the spinach that was contaminated in the field in Ca. All of the others were traced to either processors or forgien sources where the laws are pretty lax.

Oh man! I did NOT want to know that. We make whole wheat bread here at home.

The rat crap ranks right up there in the allowable % of bug parts in processed meat... aka bologna and the like...

I was reading something on that earlier in the feed/water thread (I think).......Something about they will eat more in the winter.

Sooner I have been thinking very seriously thinking on the hoop houses for my bantams. They are relatively cheap to build and easy too!!!

P&G probably has the same stuff - but under a different product line. The frustrating part is finding it and figuring out what the new names are for the shades you have been using.

Which is why I rarely wear makeup. Whenever I find a shade and/or product I can wear, it gets discontinued!

(I know I'm running behind, but I'm about to catch up!)

Right now I am going through about 150 lbs a week and that is with 12 BTW Japs, 2 Mille Fleur, 5 Belgian D'anvers, about 25 laying hens, 5 light Brahmas and 17 Favorells and 7 cochins!!!

Bill has them & that is where I got the idea. Been looking at plans on the web. Have a couple of sites if you are interested let me know.

Since all I can do right now is plan I have been busy planning stuff I can't do for a while. LOL.
